My love and I are halfway through it. So very glad that it's only loosely based on the book, because the book just became a giant masturbatory pat on the back..."I'm the only white girl who hung out with the black folk. Give me a cookie." I get that things are very racially divided in prison, but the way she kept coming back to that in the book started really pissing me off.

For once, the show is way better than the book. Also, I so totally love Netflix. They get their viewers. They understand that what we want is to sit down on a rainy Sunday evening and WATCH THE WHOLE THING. They get that we don't want it parceled out in bits and pieces that we have to agonize over for a week at a time.

Just finished Season 2 last night. The ending, OMG sooooo great! Can't wait for Season 3.

I'm sure I will rewatch Season 2 at least once before the third season starts!

Binge watched season 2. Somehow it makes prison more appealing.

    Best quote from Season 2?

You're just a Cheerio in the bulk box of life.

Gawd I love that show!! I binged watched over the weekend, too. Finished Sunday afternoon. Then had Orange remorse because I didn't have anymore. I think we should start a support group.

Love Red, Nikki, Boo, Tasty, Tucky, and Rosa. OMG Rosa! I did love the ending, too. I about crapped when I saw the Camaro and Pornstache.

Yes! Morello and Rosa were my favorites, and Poussey! I binged it all Friday and Saturday.

I read the book. And then heard the show was coming out. And that it would be Jenji-fied. And then I watched it and got my husband to watch it, too.

And then it went like...whoa...so far off the plot of the book...

And then I decided that was totally fine with me and decided to appreciate them for what they are and love both the book and the TV version separately.

    The End! :)

p.s. I think the fact that the true Piper is still like an executive producer/consultant/can't remember the exact title makes me think she is OK with the show being different from her book, but based loosely...

2/3 through the first season now and LOVE the show for what it is, not even thinking about the book much except when my husband asks "was THAT in the book?"...you were so right!!!!!
