it's this seasoning okay, or a big no no?

This may seem like a silly question but as I cook my grilled chicken I add McCormick grill mates. I usually Pansear my chicken in olive oil and Grill mates. Or I will grill mates if it's a pretty day outside on the grill. I guess my question is, is it bad to use the McCormick grill mates?

What do you mean by bad? From a calorie perspective they're fine. 0 cals.0

I guess what I mean by bad, is the sodium too much? I stop drinking v8 because everybody said the sodium was too much. I just wanted some flavor on my chicken, but now I'm worried that the sodium content in the grill mates are too much. I don't need the water weight.0

It should tell you on the back of the packet how much sodium per serving.0 -
According to their website about 180mg per serving. They do make a low sodium Montreal Steak Seasoning, which I love.0

now I want grilled chicken cooked outside.
(not it's not bad to use those.)
ETA: even for sodium, if you're grilling outside it shouldn't need too much to make your food taste good.0 -
Here you go. 60mg for the chicken seasoning.

"Bad" is a very subjective word!
Unless you already have high blood pressure, current thinking is that you don't need to worry about salt as much as previously thought. So it is unlikely that 180 mg is going to send you to the hospital. Eat it, and enjoy!
If you do have high blood pressure, then it is OK to eat as long as it isn't sending you over on your salt regularly. Personally, I'd be more worried about the saline (salt water) that some chicken breasts are "plumped" with that a little bit of seasoning.0 -
Thanx for the replies y'all. I don't feel as guilty. May need tip lighten it up tho.0
