HELP!! Polar FT4 Transmitter

I own a Polar FT4 and I love it to pieces. Its one of the few things that keeps me motivated when I exercise and the only real accurate way to log the calories I burn since I work out at home. Long story short, I've lost the transmitter.
If I were to buy an FT4 compatible transmitter (H1, H2, H7) from ebay/amazon/whatever would it just automatically start working with the watch that I have or would I have to sync it to the watch I have now somehow? I tried google, but it was very vague and generally not very helpful.

Polar uses Coded transmitters... Not sure if it's specific to each watch, or just to the general series.
Your best bet would be to ask Polar.. they could probably point you in the right direction.0 -
Bump, hoping for more responses soon0

Came across this post while searching for something else. I have the opposite issue and can share some information that may answer your question.
I had the FT7 for a while and then bought the H7 so it would work with apps on my phone.
The watch from the FT7 automatically picked up the signal from the H7, and actually the watch and my iphone can both receive the signal from the H7 at the same time.
I'm actually trying to figure out how to get the watch to see only a specific one so that my daughter can use my old one when we run together.0 -
And I just found a compatibility chart

I know this is an old thread, but how did you get your FT7 to connect to the H7? I have an H7 and FT4 and I can't get the FT4 to pick up the H7 sensor even though they're compatible.0 -
I use the H7 because it is dual compatible -- I use bluetooth to connect to my iPhone (cyclemeter) and the polar transmission is compatible with the treadmills, stationary bikes, etc. at my gym. I have an FT4 but haven't used it in ages but I believe that there is a menu page to set up connections -- once you set up your connections being near someone else with similar equipment shouldn't interfere with your equipment (I hope I answered both questions in one answer here).0
