high protein oatmeal recipe......tried it??
You might want to double the water and milk in the recipe. There is no way it will cook and be edible using the suggested amounts.
Otherwise a great recipe, and I will be adding it to my morning routine.
I used 1/3 of a cup of egg whites and 1/3 of a cup of berries on each serving this way you only have 1 cup to wash.

I've actually been putting egg whites in my oatmeal for about a year now. Half a cup of oats, 1 cup water, cook on stove until oatmeal's done, then add half a cup of egg whites and stir until creamy, but not liquid-y. Then I add Splenda, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and whatever else I want. It's delicious, and I appreciate the extra protein when I'm not hungry a few hours later.
My other favorite high-protein breakfast is cottage cheese pancakes (way better than they sound). Equal parts egg whites, oat flour, and cottage cheese. Cook like regular pancakes, top with sugar free jam/preserves. So, so good.0 -
Those pancakes sound good. Do you use the food processor to blend? or do you leave it lumpy? Thanks0

11g of protein for 240 calories. Gotta love what people call 'high protein'.0

High protein to me is like 30-40 + grams....I am trying to eat like 120 a day and I need to make a dent in that at each meal!!!0

It's higher protein than regular oatmeal, or many of the "breakfast" items that people are used to.0 -

I use oat flour, so they're not lumpy. I personally like leaving the cottage cheese as is, but you can try it both ways; just grind the oats, or process the whole concoction.0 -
Thanks Menix 8 I am going to try it.0

This is a my fitness pal recipe so if you have an argument pick it with them0 -
I don't like the consistency but I will add egg whites occasionally. I too make the protein pancakes with cottage cheese. They are delish! I just combine everything in a food processor. I also add cottage cheese to my protein shakes.0

I add flax seed and peanut butter to my oatmeal. Kicks the protein up to 19 grams, has a lot of fiber, doesn't waste six egg yolks, and, well, doesn't involve egg whites in your oatmeal, which sounds nasty to me. It's a higher in calories, but not bad for a meal. The whole breakfast, including a banana, coffee with real cream, and fish oil supplements, was 429 calories.0

Me too. I have 37g for just over 400. My diary is open. Steel cut oats, blueberries, greek yogurt and protein powder. You can modify the amounts to suit your intake. I'm on net 1200 and have no issues eating them daily. My portion fills up a 500g container of sour cream and it's very filling. I haven't found anything to match it for the same calories.0 -
Kolnomore- are those overnight oats? Or how do you cook them?0
