"I challenge you" motivational competition

So I've noticed I'm more motivated when in competition. Who wants to do a short term competition with me on MFP with our diaries. Challenge me to anything and I'll tell you if I accept or decline :)

For example..... I challenge anyone to a 1001 calorie intake only for tomorrow. I actually would like to challenge someone with this.

Lol ok I guess you mean 1001 is not healthy and that's Ok because I know it's drastic.

It's not just drastic, it's pretty stupid to promote unhealthy eating habits and pose it as a "challenge".

I challenge you to actually do some research on eating food in moderation and at a reasonable deficit so that you can sustain it.

I'm terribly sorry, but that is a highly unhealthy challenge, based on a lot of nutrition ignorance and fad. Please nobody take up this challenge!

Here's a challenge of my own: find your TDEE. (the number of calories you burn on a daily basis just by going about your day.) Once you have that number, subtract 10-20% from it, and that is your calorie goal that will lose weight on. Super easy! The challenge is to find that number and adhere to it for ONE MONTH. I can almost guarantee everyone (barring the odd medical condition) will see pretty good results. It's almost impossible not to!

I challenge you to eat all your calories one day with just broccoli. Go ahead. . .I double dare you.

    PS--1 pound = 154 calories. . . . .and go!

Let me see: TDEE is 2,550 so I'd have to consume 16.558 pounds....roughly. Maybe I'll accept.

Wow. She did say 1001 cals in a day and not 1 cal. Is all this abuse really necessary for a whimsical challenge? (I guess it was the '..and 0ne calorie' that was your challenge? ;-)
I'm an ADF dieter so I know eating a lower cal amount isn't a killer. No one will die from eating 1001 cals for 1 day.
    Lighten up.

sorry but this is not the definition of TDEE...TDEE is your daily activity plus exercise.

As for staying in the green that could mean eating 500 a day. That challenage should be within 50 calories below your net calories.

If I personally accepted that challenge I would pay for 3 days...I have eaten 1195 (busy day) and I paid and paid...weak, lethargic, my lifts suffered...even one day can have a negative impact on people so...

I didn't die but it wasn't fun and it is against the ToS of the forums to promote VLCD..and this would be considered that.

Hilarious :) I like broccoli but wouldn't want to eat that much of it. I'd consider eating my daily calories in only vegetables for a day.

Look, guys, she's got a good idea.. about the challenge. Her first idea wasn't a good one but let's come up with a good one and do it. I think it could be a great motivational tool! Personally I like the 'stay in the green" challenge. Or maybe drinking water?

^i agree. We are supposed to all be adults here. I understand the dangers of the wrong people reading comments the wrong way, but lighten up is right! I don't think I've ever eaten less than 1500 calories in a day in my life, but if wouldn't kill me if I took in this challenge. It might even help me to understand that I won't wither away or faint if I undereat for a day. I'm not saying I'm doing it though. No way. You can't make me!:)

I can see your point but- she's not promoting this as a lifestyle- it's just for a day. in response to your own experiences I can go with that. The first week of the 5:2 diet you do feel like crap on the fast days. now I relish them. I feel clearer and more focused. but it's whatever works for you. It's all about moderation. Do your cals for the week balance out? 1000 cals a day long term is not a good idea - but for a day? Is that really a problem?

A great challenge would be to try at least 2 different forms of exercise that you have never done before this week!

Can you imagine how much gas you would have doing this challenge? I ate about a cup the other day and had gas bubbles for a day and a half!! :blushing:

I think it's only open to your friends. I typically drink 10 cups (on a bad day) to 18 cups (on a high cardio day). Average is about 14 cups a day.

Ok, I`m in. I challenge you to take the amount of time you spend on the internet and looking at your phone per day, and exercise that same amount of time. Walk, run, sit ups, deadlifts, squats you pick!

Or make it easy, every time you look at your phone you owe one push up. Every time you send a text, you owe 5.

Oops sorry, I fixed that. I drink anywhere from 15-30 cups a day with an average somewhere between 20 and 25 lol
