Cold Turkey Challenge!

I need to do something serious about my diet. It's really unhealthy. I'm addicted to junk food!

So for the next 18 days, starting from tomorrow until the end of June, I am going cold turkey on junk food--no sweets, no takeaways, no sodas.

Who else wants to do this challenge with me? Just name what you're giving up and we can motivate each other with updates in this thread.

Simple.

I'm doing something similar with no junk food - and having more fruit and veggies.

I've set myself four goals to get me started.
    1 - complete day 1 haha
    2 - complete 5 days
    3 - complete 10 days
    4 - complete 3 weeks

My partner is checking my calories and that I'm exercising and is ticking a chart I made haha.

I started yesterday and will complete my 3 weeks on the 2nd of July.

    Good luck to you :)

I have a cold turkey challenge of my own. I need to get more protein in my diet, so I'm going to eat cold turkey, because it's an excellent source of protein. And pre-cooking it and keeping it in the fridge makes an easy-to-grab high protein food that can be just thrown into a quick salad and it goes extremely well cold with pickled red cabbage and pickled onions for a very quick and easy high protein snack. So :drinker: for cold turkey.

(unfortunately they don't sell much turkey here in Bahrain, but I'm going to be returning to the UK so I'll have to wait until then to do the cold turkey challenge, but in the meantime I'll still be doing the cold chicken challenge)

Not really that simple. Are you planning on avoiding the things for the next 70 years? Of not, you need to learn to incorporate them into your lifestyle now. Now I gave up soda cold turkey and cigarettes cold turkey but I have no plans to ever use those again. If you give up all that now of course you're going to lose weight bit when you decide to add this back on and that back in you run the risk of putting weight back on and getting frustrated and discourage leading to possible binging and then just quitting. Please consider practicing some self control and will power to learn how to enjoy these things in moderation before giving it ALL up.

Depends on your definition of junk food...

    Peanut butter filled pretzels?

I've been doing more or less low carb for the last few weeks...lots of salads (hearty ones...hard boiled egg, chickpeas, sprouts, beets, etc), fruits, yogurts and low fat dairy, etc. I gotta say I'm feeling much better. I wasn't so well-behaved on vacation :/

I recently started a cold turkey challenge myself. I gave up all white sugar. This has been really tough for me because I consume a lot of it all through the day. I am currently on Day 7. This may be the longest I have ever gone without eating white sugar.
