No Refined Carbs till July 4th!

Ok. I've got to do something drastic, but I'm going to try it.

Here is goes:

I want to cut out....
- all added sweeteners
- all refined flours and grains
- AND (gulp) alcohol

These are the foods I abuse too much. I just have got to take a break from them.
Anybody care to join?

June 14 - Hiking all day (yay!) but then at a friend's house that night and snacked on chips and cookies - No alcohol, though!
June 15 - Made a healthy and hearty quinoa and chicken dish. No alcohol.
Today - so far so good.

I am on week 3 of doing that. I cut out all simple carbs and artificial sweeteners. I lost 5 lbs the first week and 3 lbs the second.

Why cut out grains? They provide delicious energy for lifting and cardio.

Not cutting out grains! Just don't want to eat corn products or white rice or bread. I totally end up eating more than I should of these things, so it's just easier for me to cut them out... for a bit!

I've never had a problem with brown rice, whole grain pasta, quinoa, buckwheat, etc... In fact, if anything, whole grains fill me up so much, it would be impossible to overdo it!

Seriously, I'm a small person (5'2", size 2/4) I honestly don't know where I pack it in when it comes to sugar/refined carbs, but I will do some serious damage!

    Yeah!
Fruits, veggies, sugar-free anything. I just don't want to slather my yogurt with honey or pour agave syrup over everything (let alone the white stuff). I DAMAGE sweet things!

DAY 4 - Salad for breakfast.

Nice side-benefit: Budget unusually full without buying beers!!!

    refined grains, e.g. white rice
    refined flour AND [refined] grains

My grammar is fine, even if my sentence structure could've been improved.

Day 6 - Starting to hit me now, and even yesterday and the day before I wasn't *Completely* faithful, having had some non-fat organic frozen yogurt.

Still, no alcohol... just feeling the craving for pastries, etc... My downfall!

Hang in there! When you get cravings for sweats have some fruit. Do you get enough healthy fat in? Maybe thats why you crave pastry?

I guess I should say simple sugars that are refined, processed. Fruit (even though a simple carb) is my friend right now!
