Nope was just curious - I thought maybe it was a specific illness or something.
  • oh i see - well my stomach was so bad i couldnt go into work for a few days - also eating late makes you sluggish the following day

Hmmmm...pizza ...the BANE of my existence....But I thought we were supposed to stop eating after 6:00 p.m. ?? Which is damn near an impossibility for most normal folks...I try to eat more during the day, exercise and then eat lighter and sensibly(no pizza, spaghetti,etc...) at night time..How can I join the group?

I eat at 10 every night. I am asleep by 12. Maybe I am just lucky to be ok with it. What say you all...

Kind of curious with the statement on your group OP "It is a proven fact eating late makes you obese"?

As a permanent night shift worker my eating habits bounce all around the place. For instance I'll sometimes eat a curry, kebab, pizza or something at 1am. Are you suggesting this will stop me from losing weight?

The idea that you shouldn't eat after a certain time is a myth. You can eat at whatever time you wish - your body will still digest and process it in exactly the same way.

Shocking. The ones under no restriction were fatter than the ones that were.

The time of the day has no relevance to that.

If you have a medical condition such as acid reflux that eating close to the time you lay down in bed would cause discomfort then I could see it but meal frequency in and of itself has no bearing on weight loss or just overall consumption of ones calories... I just got home and grilled up and ate a sirloin steak, a bbq chicken breast, grilled asparagus, 6 oreo cookies and a glass of milk. It fit into my caloric intake and macros for the day and actually I am still 250 calories short for the day so I will be having something (cocoa almonds or something) when I head into bed.... I have lost over 300+ lbs. eating this way...... The whole eating after such and such a time is nothing more than a myth....

Just as well we have this handy dandy calorie counter where we do not eat ad lib.

If I ate all day, I would gain weight also. Even if I stopped at 8:30pm!

You probably had indigestion or heart burn.

Eating at a certain time won't make you fat, or sick. The type of food you eat might (I can't eat cake), but the time does not matter.
  • Well it works for me and now that i have given up eating late i feel better - no sluggishness and no bad tummy

    Good for you!

However, it does not change the fact that your statement on your homepage is just wrong.

"It's a proven fact that eating late makes you obese - yuck!!"

Nor does eating late make everyone ill or feel sluggish the next day.

Umm OP you stated in another thread that you don't eat after 9pm - "Except on a Saturday night"?

So how does that work then?

No, no it is not my opinion.

You are saying that everyone who eats late at night is obese - errr...nope.

Me not feeling sluggish or ill when I eat late is also not opinion.

But your opinion is based on a study that does not apply to the point you are trying to make.
There's absolutely no scientific evidence that proves that eating after 8:30PM will make you gain.

It's almost 10 and I just had dinner. And I've lost consistently.

Those people who work night shift are gonna be really mad with this groundbreaking info. I eat at 8:31 everyday, not obese yet.

Pointing out that your ridiculous claim that "it's a proven fact that eating late makes you obese" is wrong isn't an opinion. It's a fact. Perhaps the word doesn't mean what you thought it does.

Look at the dates - i have changed since then - bloody hell what is wrong with you people - we are supposed to be supporting each other in weight loss instead you are jumping down my throat.

I wish i hadnt bothered - i was only looking for support as i am struggling
