Sweet Potato!

(Tried this in another topic, but not very popular)

Hey!
Quick post....

I weigh my sweet potatoes (I eat one about everyday, can't get enough). But, all of the calorie posts in MFP come up a little or a lot different...I noticed this after some research about which one to use for my calorie inputting.

What numbers do you come up with when you log sweet potatoes? (I slice and bake them).

PS: If you want to tell me they are free and I don't have to log them, I am like 100% on board with that ;)

    With the food database down, it's impossible to check right now, but are the serving sizes the same for the different calorie counts? And are they precise, as in 200g rather than 1 medium potato? A medium potato can mean anything, but 200g is 200g no matter which strain of potato you have. Also, many people get sweet potatoes and yams mixed up, plus there are different varieties of sweet ptoatoes (and yams, for that matter) which may have slightly different nutritional profiles.

    Yeah, unfortunately they were different amounts for the same labels. I weighed in grams to try and get the best/most exact calorie count :)

    Just make your own entry. I use the USDA's website for a lot of produce and things, they have tons of nutritional information. Here's the entry for unsalted baked sweet potatoes with the skin - http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/show/3255

    I tried to eat sweet potatoes everyday and got some bizarre side effects, so I had to scale them back.

    But I'm looking forward to having some with rosemary tonight!

    I got with 25 calories per oz (baked).
