Awkward Facebook Problem!

I started a new job a couple of months ago and a girl I work with sits near me and comes over for a chat every day and has invited me to nights out. I thought we got on pretty well and we had fun on nights out.

So I sent her a friend request on Facebook today, she is friends with pretty much everyone in the company and logs in constantly. So she hasn't accepted my request yet but has been online and posted several times since I sent the request.

This is so awkward, I can't understand why she hasn't accepted and since she sits near me this is going to be really weird now! I'm a bit confused and embarrassed to be honest, what the heck?!

    This has happened to me but the request had already been accepted. I confronted the person who said it had happened accidentally and then still didnt add me back. I had a huff and a puff then cancelled the request. Just forget about it x

    Honestly, she probably hasn't seen it. She could be using her phone and just didn't receive the alert....or has her alerts turned off. You can:

    1.) jokingly be like "hey hoe, accept my request!"

    or

    2.) just delete it and act like it never happened -- pretend she hasn't seen it yet.

    and that's why i won't accept or request anyone i work with (i've only been here for 9 mo). even though i've never said anything about the company or any person who works here....it's just safer and easier! :-)

    Facebook can be glitchy. I've had some requests disappear right after they're sent to me. You could always remove the request, then resend it. If she still doesn't accept, then I guess you know where she really stands, and then you can use the "oh well, her loss" attitude. :)

    she probably hasn't seen it I have people waiting in my inbox and sometimes i don't realize I know people until later when I look closer at the request.

    Maybe she prefers to keep her friends and co-workers separate. I don't add my co-workers because they don't necessarily need to know my personal business.

    I've been at my job for 3 years and I still maintain that behaviour.

    That and I am anti-social...I spend 5 days a week for 10-12 hours a day with these people...I don't need them invading my personal life too.

    I only use Facebook to play a game I've been playing for 4 years... It's not Farmville or anything, but it has kept me entertained. I may just deactivate soon...I'm not missing much with my small 35 friend list, half of which is family.

    I'll be honest with you, I have a weird religion, and I am very cautious to let co-workers know about it because I've been adversely affected in the work place for it.

    Maybe she's a dirt worshiping pagan?

    She's friends with everyone else at work though, it's weird. She's a massive Facebook addict so I'm sure she's seen it, she's certainly posted since then.

    Ah well, I guess it's just one of those weird things, or I'm a complete weirdo! Never mind and thanks for the feedback folks :)

    Maybe she's decided not to add any more work people to her FB friends list because she's realized that everyone can see how much she's posting at work, but she doesn't want to insult the people she's already friended by removing them.

    Not that I would know anything about that or anything.
