Login using Username vs. Facebook

I've been logging in with a username/password for years. Are there any differences when you log in using Facebook?

It syncs with your Facebook account so you get vanity points when your Facebook friends like your status. :)

Thanks for the reply. Does it automatically post statuses for you on Facebook? Not sure I'd want the program to do that...

jersey, that's why I've never gone through Facebook either. I don't want a random "I've eaten 400 calories for lunch" post generated for no reason.

Note sure that's they case, which is why I'm asking. lol.

I log in through Facebook. I was terrified it would post my weight but it's never posted anything. It gives you the option to opt out of posts when you log in and I've never had an issue.

thanks everyone. is there a way to turn on some sort of 'notification' on mfp when someone responds to your topic?

If you use Facebook credentials then Zuckerberg tracks your exercise and weight. Eventually, when your body gets good / hot enough, he turns you into a naked marble statue for his giant Chess board and donates your clothes for a tax write off and "humanitarian" street cred.

Honestly, It doesn't really matter, but keeping accounts separate is a good idea. Don't use your FB account to authenticate.

I can't remember my MFP password, so I don't know if it becomes obsolete or not. MFP has honestly never posted anything on my page so i'm not worried about that.

I think you can change the settings around to do what you want. I never used my FB account because i prefer not to plague my friends. However, I have seen a number of my friends' statuses floating by on my timeline.

so, is there a way to get notified when someone responds to your post on myfitnesspal?

from what i found, you can set things up to receive emails for each response. i was hoping for some notification while logged into the site. either way, thanks for all the feedback, peeps!
