Hey! I just started T25 today and am very excited about it! I completed Insanity last May and Shaun T is by far my favorite instructor. I did Les Mills combat last summer and loved that as well. So far day 1 was BRUTAL! 25 mins of pure cardio, no rests. But that's what I love about Shaun T! I like feeling the sweat and burn. I tried P90x3 and couldn't get into it as much. Too many pushups and pullups and I did not like Tony Horton at all.
  • Hola! I started doing T25 three weeks ago and i must say it is amazing, I never knew i could sweat like that. I plan on taking my measurements on Saturday. I excited to see where I am at. So far I lost 7 pounds!!!! I totally recommend this workout program.

I just ordered t25 and I just want to give my input so far before trying anything. First of all, I came across the infomercial and unlike me, was impressed and called to order. According to to the infomercial this program had all it would take to lose a ton of weight. And I saw a few of the people who lost weight (out of 100s) in the test group. I knew it was an infomercial and decided to order it and put in the effort.

So here is what i learned...apparently you need a lot more to get the most from this program. the woman on the phone was doing hard sell after hard sell. I told her several times i just wanted what i saw on tv. After about 15 minutes of her trying to sell me one thing after another i told her I would cancel my order if she tried to sell me one more thing.

Here is what they try to sell you and what I thought about it.
    1. a package including Gamma. why would i not get the complete workout for $140. seriously? I feel like i just got sold on a car and now they're trying to sell me the 4th cylinder.
    2. elastic bands in different resistance levels. They say the first one wont do much. Ok... so don't send it to me and lower the price of your program.
    3. Nutritional supplements for $1, but then you pay more to continue. Wait... the infomercial said that you provided nutritional guidance and this is what helped all the testimonial people lose so much weight. So apparently the diet sucks and I need supplements?

    and so on.....

I'm 99% confident I'll be sending this back to get my money back. The phone call to process the order killed my enthusiasm and i havent even received the product. Check out craigslist...already 100's of these at half price. not a good sign. I'll update this once i try it for 29 days.

I'll be doing my third workout tonight. After years of very little to no proper cardio exercise I've found the workouts challenging but actually really good fun. For now I'm following the girl at the side who does the modified workouts and I still find my self dripping with sweat by the end of the 25 minutes. But they do seem to go by really quickly and I'm already looking forward to cracking on with tonight's workout once I get in from work. No pain, no gain eh?!
  • Look at my pictures!! The one with 3 pictures shows my progress. The far left is actually about a month before I started T25, but the middle picture is when I started. You definitely get results. I am 25 and a mother of a 6 month old by the way.

@cheeks I ordered online because I've used Beachbody products before, and knew the drill. They try to sell you everything (could they push shakeology anymore at the end of each DVD, lol?) but you don't need any of it. The workout is what matters. I have bought nothing but the T25 exercise program, and I'm in my second week and already lost 6 pounds. I enjoy the workouts. Some were easier than others at first, and it's fun to improve each time. The ads at the ends of the DVD's are annoying, but you can just turn them off.

What is annoying me this time, and would be my only complaint, is the Beachbody coaches harrassing me!!! They message me on here and on twitter, and want me to make them my coach and join their facebook pages and do this and that for them. Leave me alone!!! Never had that experience with Yoga Booty Ballet, but twitter wasn't even around yet, and I wasn't posting on a forum like this. In any case, I'm still glad I got T25, and I know it's a workout I can stick with for a long time. He doesn't say any annoying catch phrases and things like that to get on your nerves. :)
  • I am on week 9 of Focus T25 (Gamma week 1). I am not follow the meal plan (i would starve to death) and I still indulge in sweets and fast food at times, nor am I having Shakeology (too pricey for me). SO - I love Focus T25. I loved Alpha and loved Beta. Gamma is good too.
Honestly, I did not loose one pound however with Alpha and Beta I lost a total of 12 inches over all and lost my muffin top! I didn't have that much too loose since I am doing T25 to get toned. I'm 511 and 140 pounds.
25 minutes is the key for me, with two young boys i don't have much time.
This is my first work out plan for me - I never 'worked out' besides a few trips to the gym when I was in my early 20s (35 now).

So, yes, I think its worth it!!! But ya, the coaches and shakeology commercials are annoying but thank goodness Shaun T isn't! He doesn't yell at you. He's actually quite calming!

The only thing I don't like is the music, I find it off beat except for Speed 2.0.

I have before and after pics I might post...maybe ;)

I started T25 on Monday so I've done 5 workouts. I began working out last June by going to a kickboxing class once to twice a week but between time and cost it has become too much. I found T25 online for $60 and decided to try it. I really did not think I would sweat at much as I do in only 25 minutes. I have bad knees so most of the exercises I have to use the modifier. The ab day killed my knees so I had to buy knee pads. Hopefully this week they will help. I have black and blues on my knees from this week. But as far as results. I am not going by weight. One because I do not want to focus on the scale, I get too discouraged if I do. But I do feel better after the workouts and I have lost 1/2 inch off my waist in the first week. I'm going to keep going and see if I can get stronger and eventually not need to use the modifier.

Looking optimistic and the workouts are really good. Sean T is a great motivator.

Just to share the progress with you... Just finished week 4 Beta phase. I have lost a tota of 16.3 lbs. Im just below the 220 lbs, which was my target when start with T25. I am looking for 10 more pounds to be in kind of comfort zone. Beside the scale marks, I fit better in my clothes and feel more comfrotable overall.

I am in my last week of Beta Cycle and I have the Gama. I expect I can get where I want a the end of the thre phases.

I've started T25 today, in fact I completed my very first workout about 15 minutes ago. My first thoughts.... I love it! 25 minutes flies so fast. I have to follow the modified exercices because of knee pain (which I hope will lessen with weight loss) but even with the the modified you sweat alot. Can't wait to see if I get good results like some of you did. Working out is very new to me. I've been making an effort for about 2 months now to move at least an hour per day (biking, swimming, walking, zumba and yoga) but let's say it still isn't natural for me to do so. I constantly need to kick myself in the butt. However, I haven't skipped a day (which is amazing for me). Hopefully, I will stick to T25 also.
  • This is week 5 of Alpha for me. I went from 172 to about 168. Not much weight change, but I'm down to a 31 waist, and have lost body fat from 16.7% to 14%. I'm a 5'9.5" male turning 43yrs old this year.

The workouts are amazing considering it's only 25 min. The key is food intake. I haven't been strictly following the T25 diet , but I have been mindful of caloric and salt intake and portion control. Drinking lots of water helps. The bulk of my carb intake is for breakfast, and almost no carbs for dinner. Meat consumed per meal is measured between 4 to 6 ounces. Mostly chicken breast, beef or fish. They say carving a six pack is done in the kitchen and not the gym. It's very true.

I work out with my brother and wife. My brother is diabetic and haven't worked out in decades, but last week, he has lessened his insulin and has not had problems with water retention anymore. He has also gotten stronger and lost about 10lbs so far.

    T25 works.

Started T25 today... it is an awesome workout! I had to do some of the modified at times, either because I had trouble keeping up with the rhythm or I was just unable to finish at the high intensity involved... however, I never had to stop and Shaun T is great at keeping you motivated throughout. My favorite thing is that the countdown is right on the screen so you can see how much time you have left... I felt like this helped my keep the intensity as high as I could because I was motivated to complete it. The cool down at the end was good too, although I learned that I do need to work on my balance. I guess my age is starting to catch up to me, especially since I have become so complacent with my body and not working it hard like I use to before children. My goal is to lose 20 lbs by the time I am done with the program, so we shall see!

I started last Saturday 7/12/14 (because I just couldn't wait for Monday & I'm not doing the shakes). So short of the stretching tomorrow I have completed all the workouts for week 1 of Alpha phase. I'm not one to get up early to work out but I made myself this week so that I wouldn't have any excuses later in the day for not getting in my workout. I honestly love doing the workouts first thing in the morning. It is challenging and I sweat but I push myself to get it done.
With only 1 week under my belt I feel the difference & it feels good.

I'm curious about the variety of packages -- what 'kit' is everyone using? Would you start with the FOCUS?

The base package has Alpha, and Betta, these are the dvd work outs, then it also has a nutrition guide and a resistance band.

You might want to lower your calorie goal. I'm sure it depends on height, weight, age, metabolism, etc., but maybe lower your daily calorie goal to around 1300 or 1400 and see if that makes a difference?

And don't forget that muscle weighs more than fat, so your weight may not change to much, but how are your clothes fitting?
  • I have been doing T25 faithfully for the past 10 weeks and watching my calories and have not lost a pound. I do not think that it is enough of a workout for me, I am not burning enough calories.

T25 will get you results, but don't expect to get ripped or get a six pack after the program. You have to do other stuff like lifting and running as well. Nutrition is the main key.

You're watching your calories, but what are you eating? If it's fattening, sugary, or contains unnecessary carbs, you won't get the results you want.

I posted a version of this in another T25 thread, but this seems like a more appropriate thread for my review. I recently completed the first 8 weeks for T25 and have decided not to continue. It was too high impact and I was constantly working through pain and injuries. I developed such severe lower back pain that I was having difficulty walking and my neck was so sore that my range of motion was decreased and it made sleeping really painful. I wish I could have continued because it is a solid workout and an amazing burn for only 25 minutes.

    PROS:
-Seriously killer workouts in 25 minutes. Like I was dripping sweat every time! And being able to go from zero to having worked out, showered and had a protein shake/snack within an hour is amazing.
-MAJOR burns! I was hitting 300-400 cal in some workouts, plus HR recovery time with continued burn since it's HIIT.
-Overall slimming and streamlining effect on your body, especially with good diet, is tough NOT to notice, even just after alpha phase.
-Sean T kicks *kitten*. Seriously. And with Tanya as a modifier you have zero excuse to slack.
-You will definitely improve certain aspects of your cardio and agility with these routines.

    CONS:
-Super high impact to the point that I developed a severe lower back issue and was having difficulty walking. Let me stipulate, however, that I have back issues to begin with and have had spinal surgery. That said, I can lift, do yoga, Pilates, and most other things without issue, but even with some low impact modifications on certain moves, over time my neck, shoulders and most of all my back really took a beating. I'm just not sure if it's worth the potential for a lasting injury.
-Weight loss seems to occur over muscle gain, and for me I noticed some loss of muscle mass due to an excess of cardio and minimal weight training, especially in Alpha. I will admit that this gets somewhat better in Beta, but for my body type it's still a bit cardio-heavy. I know for some others this tendency toward weight loss may be preferable, but for me it just wasn't quite the right formula in terms of weight loss vs. toning and strengthening.

I think I'm going to move on to lifting to help with toning and may go back to P90X, because it did a lot more for me despite the fact that the time commitment can be a bit excessive.

Anyway, T25 is a good routine and if it works for you that's awesome. Unfortunately it wasn't great for my body and my fitness goals at this time.
  • Today, I finished week 2 of T25 Alpha series. I am already seeing results, but I believe it's because I am monitoring my food intake. I have lost a couple of pounds, but the biggest results so far, at only 2 weeks, is that I am starting to see my abs muscles take form. No kidding. I wasn't sure if I was fooling myself, so I asked a friend. My friend said you can definitely see the outline of a 2-pack starting. Lol. By the end of five weeks, I hope to see even better results. I encourage you to try it.
  • Hey Lindsey-
My husband and I started T-25 in January 2014. We both followed the diet and the exercise plans. As of now, I have lost over 40 pounds and he has lost over 65. We did start incorporating a few similar healthy similar calorie count recipes into the plan in May for diversity, but we're still eating the meals for the most part. We did go with a different protein shake- Shakeology is pricey- it took us a while to find one, but we like Warrior Food Extreme by Healthforce which is a vegan protein. There are tons of protein options out there though so just find one you like.

I didn't have any issues with this being too high impact- but I also did/do the modified version of the moves when I need to. My Husband is going another round of the Gamma hybrid, and I am taking dance classes and incorporating the beta program or running the rest of my time.

We look ten years younger (we're mid 30's). And we both feel better than we have in years. Neither one of us has a six pack yet- but we both had a lot of weight to lose. We both know we'll get there if we keep at it, but this was more about getting healthy for us than anything else.

For us T25 worked because the workouts are fast and the food (most recipes have 5 ingredients) are stupid easy to prepare. We also found with the simpler grocery list plus not eating out, we sometimes were saving 200-300 dollars a month.

    Anyway- hope this helps!
  • I have just finished T 25 and I loved it I didn't follow the food plan 100% but I still lost 20lbs. And no I'm not a coach or anything I'm a stay at home mom with four kids ages 6 5 2 and 6 months I did this over the summer while they were home and I still got results it's worth it.

I'm on my 2nd week of Alpha, and there are times where I can barely breath. I can't even seem to do the modified version at these times, so I hit pause and walk around the room to catch my breath for about a minute. This is what HIIT is about, so am I hurting myself by taking a minute break? TurboFire was like this. Chalene would do burnout for a minute and then give us 40 seconds to catch our breath and get some water. So again, buy taking a minute break (hitting pause) is this hurting my workout?

Is Focus T25 consider Strength Training or Cardio? I know it has both in there, but I want to make sure I am getting enough of both. I was doing HIIT. I am not sure doing just T25 is going to be enough or if I need to do HIIT at least 3 times a week also.
  • This is a great thread and it's motivating to see so many people getting good results. My husband ordered the t25 program last week and we're just waiting to get it in the mail to set a start date! From general comparisons to others of similar age and lifestyles I think I might have found the key to overcoming the plateau I've found myself on. I have a Caribbean cruise booked in December and want to be a confident mama with my kiddos in the pool and beaches - maybe even sport a bikini?!?!
