Is the fish drunk too? It is upside down. Just saying.0

I'm here for the drinks0

Not necessarily...
Sometimes when I'm socializing I drink a lot, but that's only one day a week! If that!
a once day a week binge drinker is a warning sign, Why binge at all? Why can't you stop before hat.
Who said anything about binge drinking?
for the sake of this thread, lets call binge drinking 3 official alcohol servings in 1 day ("official" meaning 4 oz of wine, 1 oz of hard liquor or 1 12 oz. beer).
Three drinks in a day is binge drinking?
Oops....(...hic.....)....
I don't think so. Three drinks in a 10 minute period may be binge drinking, if you carry that out over the course of a couple hours. But three in one day. Thats crazy talk.
well, it's my thread, so I could say it was one if I wanted. If you would like to justify drinking more by defining it differently to fit in your world view, then by all means.
Well, according to the CDC world view...
Binge drinking is the most common pattern of excessive alcohol use in the United States. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and AlcoholismExternal Web Site Icon defines binge drinking as a pattern of drinking that brings a person’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to 0.08 grams percent or above. This typically happens when men consume 5 or more drinks, and when women consume 4 or more drinks, in about 2 hours.
Most people who binge drink are not alcohol dependent.0 -
Well, now I'm pretty sure this was a troll attempt.
I tried very hard to word that last paragraph so it would be implicitly satirical, but I guess my efforts were inadequate.0 -
I'd rather be a good liver than have one!
cheers!0 -
I am entertained by the people in this thread who don't know John's posting history well enough to realize he's stirring the pot and laughing at all the serious responses.0

So, you wanna grab a beer?0 -

I TRY to make my attempts SO obvious as to not be misconstrued as the more dangerous and vile "true troll", but alas....
This was my attempt at "so and so eats whatever they want and stays thin" applied to alcohol...0 -

Drinking more than 12 oz of wine (3 drinks) in 2 hrs is a binge. 3 light beers, 3 wine coolers it does not matter that. It might seem like all fun and games now but it is not good for you and can lead to real problems. Especially for food addicts0

Three drinks is a binge? BS flag thrown.
Its a little bit more for men then it is woman but your BS flag does not change the facts. Alcoholics do not have to drink every day, Alcoholics do hold jobs. You can be an alcoholic even if you do not drink in the morning and if you only drink on weekends, I just stated these are warning signs and they are0 -
A liver can take an extreme amount of abuse and an individual can still appear to be healthy. But when the day comes that your liver sh1ts the bed on you, you are done for.0

How do you know they're not? People think they're getting away with it because nothing happens the next day. It takes years for the damage to show up. Being healthy is a *long game.*
Definitely this.0 -

I'm sorry... what kind of experience do you actually have with alcoholism? This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Alcoholics generally have 10 or more drinks a day.0 -
It's because they are alcohomorphs and storing the excess alcohol around their waists.0

For the purposes of medical treatment, binge drinking is 5 or more drinks (SHOTS) in as many hours. So, I like dry martinis and one of them is equivalent to 3 shots easily. If I have two in an evening, that is binge drinking, for example. I feel like dog sh#t afterward, so only like to have one.
LOTS of people never learn to drink like a grown up.0 -
Get new friends is all I can say. I did that about 3 years ago in my late 20's and I finally got sick of babysitting them and being the DD for their stupid selves. It got old and I don't drink but a glass or two of wine a year.
It's cold, it's harsh but if you can't enjoy yourself...why go? Do something else with them?0
