July Walking Challenge

This is continued from previous Walking Challenges, but it’s nice when each month has its own thread.

*** Anyone can join in at any time. The more the merrier, let’s keep each other motivated****

Walking seems like the easiest way to start getting exercise, and even if you can't track distance (or don't want to), tracking time is good too...go for a 10 min walk after dinner, or up it to 30 minutes, you'll be amazed at the end of the month how much more exercise your getting in. :)

Check in everyday with how far you walked or how long, this is just to motivate us to get in at least some exercise every day, and keep an eye on each other.


I want to try to keep this mostly to walking or walking type exercising. Treadmills and elliptical are A-OK.

Hope to see some more faces in this challenge; we'll start tracking July 1st.

    I'm in! With my husband working crazy retail hours and my son out of school, I am going to set a low goal for the month of 30 miles! Good luck everyone!

    I'll join in - I'm doing C25K, so I'm doing the combo walking/running. I'd like to do 35 miles this month.

    I'll join! I'm using Map My Fitness! That's part of my workout schedule. Only on Monday's though. Is that okay?

    Such a nice day I walked 3 miles in 52 minutes, pace 17:24 according to Map My Walk!

    I want to join in - love to walk - goal is 60 miles - doing one mile in the morning and one at night - should be easy enough right?

    count me in too-I walk at least 5 days a week. 15 miles a week-so goal will be 60 for the month. But my realistic goal will be 35 miles for July. No walk today-just got off a 27 hour shift. will post walk tomorrow-Good luck everyone!:smile::smile:

    I am in...love a walking challenge. my goal is 3 miles a day 6 days a week. 72 miles for July....
    I am using Runkeeper.

    I was only 18.08 miles away from the June's 60 miles goal... So I'm going to continue that goal for July as well. I'm excited to be a part of these walking challenges with ya'll. HERE WE GO!!!

    Good morning! A bit about myself .... looking to lose 30+ pounds and get to a happier healthier place in my life. Thanks for posting this and the motivation to try to do this with you.

    I normally do a mile walk with two killer hills that will have your heart racing. I pushed myself this morning and walked two miles.
    Going to see if I can do this again tonight.

    Alright, got 2.5 miles done last night in between breaks in the rain/storms we had last night.

    July total = 2.5 miles

    Count me in. Goal would be to walk a minimum of 3 days a week and a minimum of 2 miles per walk.

    I know I am a bit late to the Challenge but I was hoping if I could join. I would like to track by minutes a day instead of by total distance. I feel it gives me a more attainable goal. Thanks so much and have a terrific day!

    OK I'm IN! so far I did 2.42 miles on the 1st and 1.92 miles today :) up to 4.34 miles so far! Lets do this... I'm a mother of 3 and really enjoy taking the kids with me I have about 69 lbs left to lose.
