Sweetening Greek yogurt ?

I have a sweet tooth and I can't eat my greek yogurt plain.
I obviously don't want to use plain sugar to avoid all the calories.
What do you guys use to sweeten greek yogurt that isn't too unhealthy ?
I have tried the following :
1) honey
I find the mix with greek yogurt is horrible, regardless of how little honey I use, what type of honey, and what type of greek yogurt (store bought or home made). Once honey is in the mix I can't add anything else to cover it, it's just inedible to me.
2) erythritol
This is expensive but sweetens well.
Unfortunately I have to use a lot of it, and it gives me the runs - I will be back and forth in the restroom all day.
Sure, I lose weight, but it's a lot of liquid weight.
3) stevia glycerite liquid
This seems to work reasonably well. The taste is not great but OK. And it's zero calories and not expensive.
4) raspberry jam
This has produced the tastiest result so far. But of course highest calories.
Bonus question : for those who make their own yogurt or greek yogurt, is there anything that you can put before incubation that works well ?
Stevia glycerite liquid seems to work best so far. I tried mixing in a small amount of erythritol powder as well, but I think it went all the way to the bottom of my 7 cup yogurt bowl after it was done.

I just ate my sweetened Greek yogurt as I saw this topic.
I use sugar free Torani syrups.... like the kind used for coffee.
I had a seriously bad eating out of the jar peanut butter addiction. So to replace the peanut butter, I do Greek yogurt + sugar free peanut butter syrup + PB2 powder. Yum!0 -
try mixing Crystal light powders0

Splenda works brilliantly....add a dash of vanilla for an extra flavour kick! I also use unsweetened cocoa powder with splenda when i'm craving chocolate.....it's like a chocolate froyo.0
-
My absolute favorite is 1 cup greek yogurt, 1tbsp peanut butter, 1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder.
Sugar free jam also works well - I like sugar free blueberry jam + fresh blueberries + 1/2 scoop white chocolate protein powder. Sometimes I'll also do raspberry jam and fresh raspberries.
I'll also do 1 cup yogurt + 2 tbsp PB2.
On the other hand......if you don't like greek yogurt, just don't eat it.0 -

Thanks. It looks like the sweetener in those is sucralose (splenda), which I have also tried with some limited success.
The dosage is a little hard to get right as it splenda packets are too sweet generally.I had a seriously bad eating out of the jar peanut butter addiction. So to replace the peanut butter, I do Greek yogurt + sugar free peanut butter syrup + PB2 powder. Yum!
Well, I can't stand the taste of peanut butter so not an issue here0 -
Whey protein
Which kind ? I have several but not all have a flavor that work with great yogurt.
Also, greek yogurt is already very thick even without adding powder.
If adding powder, liquid needs to be added.
I have tried some NOW whey unflavored powder (absolutely disgusting) and some designer whey chocolate powder, which tastes good in a shake with water, but not that great mixed into the yogurt.0 -

Sugar isn't evil?
It's all about the quantity. I have a sweet tooth and I eat a lot of greek yogurt. It would take 60-100g of sugar a day to sweeten the amounts of yogurt I am eating some days. And I'm trying to keep below 40g a day total.0 -
You can go a long way by adding spices such as ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Try that, and add just half the sugar or sweetener you would usually use. You'll think it is sweeter than it actually is.0

You really are making this harder than it needs to be! Chuck some flavoured whey in your greek yogurt! Whatever flavour whey you like?!
Yes it's thick, just mix it with a spoon for a few minutes. 150g of greek yogurt and 25g of whey works a treat!
F**king hell!0 -
Why not buy the Greek Yogurt with fruit? There's so many flavors to choose from and it tastes so much better!0

Maple syrup?0

I use stevia and vanilla or almond extract. I also typically eat it with fresh fruit like cherries, peaches, or strawberries. Or sometimes in winter, I used canned fruit like peaches or pineapple. Especially with then canned pineapple, extra sweeteners wasn't even needed.0

I like these combos:
1)homemade yogurt+ 1 apple (cubed)+ cinnamon,
2) homemade yogurt+peach/nectarine+honey (I know you said you hated yogurt and honey but this combination is heavenly, it is totally different than only yogurt+honey taste )
3) not a sweet one but a very refreshing one: homemade yogurt+1 teaspoon dried mint0 -
i buy plain greek yogurt too, the protein content is higher and the sugar content is far lower. I add one splenda packet and a splash of vanilla extract and I have instant vanilla yogurt with more protein and less sugar than store bought vanilla greek yogurt.0

Use some walden farms syrup. Or sugar free jam.0

Please don't get into the habit of referring to perfectly ordinary foods as unhealthy.

Love it with frozen blueberries ( defrosted off course).
If I'm really craving it a bit sweeter I'll add about 10g of honey.0 -
It is o.k. not to eat yogurt. Skip it.0

I've found that powdered stevia tastes better to me in greek yogurt. I use liquid stevia in my tea, but it tasted a little bitter to me in yogurt. If you don't mind "sugar free" products, a teaspoon of sugar free vanilla pudding is amazing in greek yogurt.0

frozen or fresh fruit -- your options are endless.0

Wait...let me get this straight. You're worried about adding a teaspoon of sugar or a handful of fruit to your yogurt because of the added calories, but you're eating 10-20 squares of chocolate just about every day.
Nothing wrong with chocolate. I just don't get the fear of putting fruit in yogurt because of the added 'sugar'. Your words.0 -

How much yoghurt are you eating and why so much, especially given that you're clearly not a huge fan of it?0 -
I just use granulated candarel and a bit of vanilla essense, I LOVE this. I have it with a handful of strawberries.0

Chobani for the win. 170gm serve, 14g protein. Comes in a gazillion flavours.0

Chobani.
Try it.
Passionfruit is my fave... pop it into the freezer & you have ice cream that is so damn good for you.0
