I'll bet he's doing it because of your reaction. Instead thank him for the food then toss it immediately into the garbage bin while he's watching. Once he realizes he won't get a reaction and you won't play the game, he'll stop.
I agree!0 -
Or you can just stare at it like it doesn't bother you, all the while thinking to yourself how stale and nasty it must be.0

If you asked your co-worker to NOT put things like that there & they still do then that can be classed as workplace bullying. Make a complaint NOW. You should have to begin with.
Then pick the items up & throw them in the bin.... you are not forced to eat them at all.0 -
Immediately bring the treat to another coworker. "Thanks, Jane will love this."
Or, put the cupcake on his chair the next time he gets up and hope for the best.
Or stash a small piece of raw onion underneath his keyboard.0 -
Bah, I haaaate that.
I usually have really good self control and wont buy junk food/anything I know I'll go crazy over (cheetos, cake)- out of sight, out of mind.
And then my mom shows up with a bag of cheetos...
"Look what I bought you because I love yoooou"
