losses on 1800 cal a day. 5'10 195 pounds

I know everyone is different but when I set my goals on mfp to 1 pound a week I get 1800 cals a day. I also plan on eating half of my exercise calories back. Anyone had success with this ? I would like to lose 30-40 lbs.

    I always tell people to eat as much as they can while losing weight at a good rate. If you can lose 1-2 lbs/week eating 1800 cal/day, that's awesome. You'll be in a good place with a lot of room to make adjustments if you hit a plateau. Try eating 1800 cal/day (total calories) for a week, while hitting your macros and getting in your workouts everyday, and see how your body reacts. If you owe 1-2 lbs, great stick with it. If you don't lose anything, then drop to 1600 cal/day and repeat for another week. This is the best way to figure out what is right for you.

    I lost 25lb on roughly 2000 calories a day, eating about half my exercise calories back as well. I was losing on average .5 lb per week though.
