What the hell just happened here. :huh:0

Yes. It's 'worth it'. Why would you even time how long you've been going uphill? I'm guessing your initial goal was to see/enjoy the lake... Hell, I'd be walking around that lake all evening. Maybe even camp there. Sounds great.
'Worth it' seems like such an understatement.0 -
You driving one of these? I'm totally at a loss here.

I cycled to the summit of Jenkin Road four times yesterday. Twice up the front, twice from the other side.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, Google it or search on Youtube.
That was in the middle of a 60 mile cycle ride to and from watching the Tour de France.
I'm still wondering what the hell possessed me...0 -

Yabba dabba doo!0 -
*confused* It's to early for this. :yawn:0

I find this slightly insulting. I spend 40 minutes cycling to and from the gym 5-6 days a week, and the way to the gym involves a huge number of hills. Let me tell you, being in a car going up a hill is NOT the same thing as actually cycling up a hill.
Not sure if troll or what?0 -
If driving up hill (ears popping), close to the edge of a cliff is not worth the panic attacks you get for a chance a a nice senic route. Stay in your neighborhood and run there.
Its all about perception.
This ^^ IMO it would not be worth it. While a run/walk aroung the perimeter of a lake sounds lovely, if getting there was unpleasant I'd just exercise somewhere else.0 -

Time spent in a car is never worth it! I don't even own one! Just go for your run/ride from home! This is what I do!0

If it was on the weekend and I wanted to go somewhere different I would do it. But everyday, save the gas and find something local to do that your more willing to do.0

OP, you are listed in the Adopt a Noob program as a mentor. How would you respond to this question if one of the noobs had asked it?0
-
It's only worth it if you are in a car you just washed.. I think
Well played.0 -
What is your goal?
If your goal is that particular view, then it is worth it.
If your goal is simply to burn x number of calories, and beforehand you are terrified, then probably isn't worth it...you can burn calories in a different way without a drive.
Ultimately, I think people do what they really want to do..0 -
Wait, did you cycle or run/walk up the hill?0

I bet it was worth it.0 -
I don't understand the question.
Find another route if that one causes you such anxiety.
See a professional for the anxiety if it affects your ability to drive.
This honestly sounds like the mother of all excuses...
Not sure you understand the meaning of the word "excuse"0 -
It would be worth it to swim (or run a bike into) the lake. We're already seeing triple digits in temperature-od just veer into the water at a certain point0

I've never noticed that driving up a hill was that much work.
+1
Doesn't the car, like...do the work for you? What am I missing, here?
Well, I suppose there 'might' be some energy expenditure if you are driving a stick... maybe enough for a couple tic tac's or a lifesaver!0
