Calculating Calories in Home Made Meals

Hello!
I am trying to workout how many calories are going to be in my dinner. The hard thing is that I haven't cooked the meal my father has, which means I obviously don't know all the quantities!
Its a sausage pasta (good quality sausages) with a tomato base and other ingredients such as garlic, onion and other spices.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to input this ? or a rough estimate I could enter?
Thanks!

You can estimate it with some information.
How much sausage pasta did you you? One cup? Two or three cups?
You can ask him and get a rough idea how much sausage was in it.
Try the food data base using the items separately OR together.0 -

I tend to ask my relatives what they put in and how much they have used and then I add everything to my diary as in (onion, garlic, tomato, certain type of sausage etc.) so I end up with very close calorie total for the meal ate.0
