Strange motivations?

Hi all :)

So currently I'm beginning the start of my new lifestyle in hope that I reach and maintain the weight and health level that I want to be at. As with most people my motivations for this are to feel better about myself, to stay healthy, to have more self confidence etc.

However..One of my motivations to get to the person I want to be is a little different from the norm! (I think).

So I should start by saying that I dream - often and vividly. I have a 'dream world' so to speak, that most of my dreams take place in. The only person I've met who has a similar experience is my dad, but surely there are other people out there like that too?

Anyways, in all my dreams I have ALWAYS been the size I want to be. It's like my subconscious refuses to believe I'm not (I have always been overweight so I don't really know if I would look like that when I lose the weight, but that's what I think I would look like!) So on top of all the other reasons for health and to be able to fit into smaller clothes, one of my motivations is to become the person i dream i am most nights.

I've shared my weird and wonderful motivation, do you guys have any? :)

I wonder what I would look like too. I can't even picture myself at my goal. I think it's beautiful that you are your dream girl. It's like looking for a new part of yourself. Very inspiring.

My husband dreams like that, I do sometimes but rarely. I have already been the size I want to be, but I picture myself much more toned than the last time I was there.

I'm glad it's not just me! When I've mentioned the dreaming thing to anyone i get that 'What the hell..?' look haha.

And good look for the weight loss/toning, you've already come so far :flowerforyou:

Thanks :) I may of course not end up looking like that!

The downside to all this is even though I've never been anywhere close to a healthy weight, I sometimes forget that i'm the size I am and get a bit of a shock when I look in the mirror! Hopefully that will be changing though :)

I am with you! I have always been a daydreamer, and in my mind I'm not quite as..*cough cough* "curvy" as I am at present. I think part of it is because I daydream in the third person, movie-style, yet I have no idea what I look like to other people. So my mind and my physical appearance do not coincide. Here's hoping they do one day! lol

I've never been much of a daydreamer myself..although i am known to when bored at work haha. My dreams tend to be first person but I'm always aware of what size i am and what i look like.

And I'm sure both dream and physical you will coincide eventually! Keeping on that path is tricky but doable :flowerforyou:
