I have a broken ankle and have put on some weight due to being sedentary. What are some ways I can exercise and shed the pounds while injured?

When I broke my ankle a few years ago, I continued to lift, however I mostly stuck to the machines. This way I didn't have to mess with moving plates with one good support leg. Worked all upper body during this time and managed to maintain most of my fitness level.
Recently, I tore my bicep and have been working mostly lower body. I'm currently working through physical therapy and hope to be back lifting whole body by winter. Exercise with injury is "teh deep suck".
I don't know how long you will be out, but once you come back, you should still have the endurance to continue exercising.
Good luck to you and be careful.0 -

Eat at a deficit and you'll lose with zero exercise.
An arm bike at the gym is a good way to get in cardio without using your legs.0
