About 3 weeks ago, around the time I joined MFP, I started walking up the 6 flights of stairs to my office. Every day. (Sometimes twice!)... instead of taking the elevator as I have - every day - for the past four years.
And finally, in the past day or so, it's started to feel a little easier!
And as of this morning, I've exercised four days in a row (can't remember the last time that happened), even though yesterday was a planned rest day.
6 flights of stairs!! OMG! Amazing!
I did have my first real NSV today. I tried a size 14 dress on that I haven't worn in years and it fit!!! I was very excited!5 -
Had to buy new underwear because the old ones were too baggy.5

Yesterday I ran, and it felt great. So I ran faster, and it felt great. So I put it on an incline, then did treadmill lunges. And it felt great. I put the flexibility machine on it's highest setting. That made me feel good. I took a shower at the gym. When did I start being someone that showers at the gym? I put on a little back dress and let my hair down. Is that really me, looking glamorous coming out of the health club? Got a healthy drive-thru lunch. I didn't get fries? I'm still amazed, and I thank God, because, wow. For all of these to happen in one day - I knew it had to be God!
This gives me hope that I will one day reach this point as well. I'm still working on getting to a gym. I just exercise at home still.3 -

I love this post. You've put all the reasons it's worth it to put the time and effort into being healthy down in one paragraph. Plus you show gratitude for your strength. Way to go!
Thank you! :flowerforyou:1 -
Over the last year I was beginning to think that all the beautiful vintage dresses I own (that I bought when I first lost a significant amount of weight 3 years ago) would never fit me again. I hadn’t put that much weight back on (10-15 lbs) but my % body fat had definitely crept up as well. It seems so dumb but I had doubts that I’d ever lose weight again -- it worked the first time when I set my mind to it, so I don’t know why it wouldn’t work now if I actually put in the time and effort! Weird mind games we play with ourselves, right? A month and a half after recommitting to MFP and really buckling down, I’m down 9lbs and all but the very tiniest of my dresses fits! Now to keep it going!6

Saw my friend's grandmother after not seeing her for a few months, she "almost didn't recognize [me] because I lost so much weight"! :D:D:D:D:D:D4

Shocked my in laws when they saw me for the first time since Christmas. I've lost 30 pounds since November (5'8", started at 183 and now at 150 pounds) and my husband hadn't told them anything about my weight loss--he wanted to see them surprised because they'd been talking about my weight to him behind my back--under the guise of "we're worried about her health!"
Well, I didn't expect them to say anything, but within two minutes of seeing me they were asking and actually congratulating me. It felt great.8 -
I saw a former co-worker who i hadn't seen in about a year and the first thing he said was "Wow you really look good! How much weight have you lost?" Also bought my first ever "skinny" cut pair of pants today, size 164
-
A year ago, I was popping out of size 18 pants. This week I went shopping for some slacks for work. I decided to try size eight and see if I could get them on. I got in the dressing room, took off my clothes and realized that one pair I picked up was a size six instead of an eight. Guess what?? They fit!7

I took my car for oil change the other day. When the shop manager asked me if I was going to wait there, I replied: "No thank you. I'll just run home, it's only a mile a way... And then I'll run back to pick it up, once you guys are done with it." He totally gave me that "you are such a badass" look /flex/9

That is SO COOL!2 -
<~this LBD.
Zipped up today.3 -
Made myself go to the gym, when I really wasn't feeling like going.
I even had to change out of my comfy clothes and get off the sofa.10 -
I fit into a pair of long pants I haven't fit since before I had the twins. Sure, they're a bit snug around the waist and might end up as a People of Walmart meme... but they do up. With a long top I could probably wear them out of the house if I had to.5

Today I went swimming for 35 minutes... and noticed my swimsuit is way loose. Another 5 lb and I'm gonna need a new one!5
-
Decided today to officially retire a pair of pants. They've been about two sizes too big for a little while now, but today they were just plain uncomfortable. But at least "too loose" uncomfortable is a lot more bearable than "too tight" uncomfortable!
ETA: I'm going to the beach this Saturday and haven't worn my bathing suit in a while...should probably try it on tomorrow in case I need to buy a new one.6 -
Last week, three of my coworkers noticed my stomach getting a little smaller...I didn't even notice lol, but it must have inspired them a lot because they all joined MFP to try and shed a few of their own pounds!
I found it very flattering to say the least. xD5 -
I was going through my drawers looking for a sports bra for my morning workout and came across my shaper top... you know that tight contraption us ladies squeeze into when we want to feel slim or have no muffin top?...well, I realized I haven't worn mine, nor thought about wearing it, for over two months! The other night went to see a show at an outdoor theater and overheard a woman near me complain about the "snug seats", had to laugh to myself because I kept sliding down in my "snug" seat. I hadn't been to this theater in a few years, so when I got there I was thinking, how I didn't remember the seats being so big. Nice to know fitting in theater, movie or airplane seats will not be a problem anymore.8

2 pairs of size 4 pants and 4 pairs of size 4 shorts that I feel confident wearing! started at a size 12 5 years ago.5
-
Most recent? My watch keeps twisting around on my wrist. I'm gonna have to have a few links removed (it's one of those stretchy expansion bands).4
-
as of last week I am now in the lean category for BMI and BF and got an above average on the cardio fit test......3
-
I realized I need to make new holes in my belt soon.
Earlier, I didn't even bother with a belt, my pants were "snug".3 -
Even though I just started (like 3 weeks ago)...AGAIN...I have noticed:
1. My skin actually glows...without make up!
2. My back "boobs" are significantly smaller...like almost non existent!!!
3. I can FINALLY do a real sit up...and quite a few after that one5 -
I’ve been less than thrilled with the fact that I put on a few lbs last week, grumble grumble. It’s so very easy to put weight on (pizza, cheeseburgers, fries, snacks, candy, oh we’re on vacation, CADBURY MINI-EGGS out of season!…) and freaking blood, sweat & tears to take it off!
Today I put on a blouse with short/elasticized sleeves and when I checked my arms, there were no marks like there were the first time I tried to wear this shirt.4 -
My most recent, these are my jeans from last year before i started MFP
those are 48w, im in a 36-38w now7 -
My NSV is that I inspired someone today. A group of larger ladies (like myself) saw me take my polar HRM strap off in the locker room. They approached me and asked about it so I explained what it tracks and all that. One of the ladies who was smaller than me said she had been wanting to get one but was afraid the strap wouldn't fit around her. So I showed her how it adjusted and she said she'd be getting one this weekend and thanked me for helping out.11

I've been on vacation for the past 10 days, so just had to spend some time catching up on all these awesome NSV's. Just love them all! I did overindulge on my 4 day cruise and a good portion of the rest of my 10 days off, however, I would say that I still have 2 NSV's from it (definitely NO scale victories!)... One is that I took the stairs every where we went on the cruise ship, knowing that I would be over indulging. God only knows what that number on the scale would have looked like if I hadn't. The second is that I have jumped right back into working out and going back to my healthy eating, calorie counting ways and I'm confident that I'll have this weight that I gained during my "break" off in no time, along with the other 40 I want to lose by next May. And really I have 3 because my MIL, who hadn't seen me since our vacation to see her last year, just couldn't stop commenting on my weight loss. I had lost 30 of my 70 pounds before I saw her last year but this last 40 really made a difference. Felt great getting to hear that every day!4

I went swimsuit shopping today (because my old one is too big) and did not cringe when I looked at myself in the mirror. My lunch stayed down, too. :-D3
-
My new capri pants I bought 1 month ago, and was uncomfortably snug.....I can now pull off me while its zipped and buttoned! 1 month!!!5
