It's time to get serious and do this!

Hello everyone! My neighbor introduced me to this site after he saw me completing a walk (unusual for me) around the neighborhood a few days ago and I am so glad he did.
You see, I've just started walking/jogging again after so many years of convincing myself that I was eating somewhat healthy and that I really didn't need to exercise that much. My mindset was that I could "eat" myslef to a healthy body and do the absolute minimum when it came to exercise. I juiced straight for 30 days but found it unsustainable for the long run as I quickly became bored even though I lost 25 lbs. I am 6'1" tall and have what I consider a "stretched" fat body. A lot of people are surprised when I tell them my weight (275 lbs) and that I'm considered almost morbidly obese.
I have 2 energetic young sons (4 & 8 yrs old) at the age of 43 so it finally dawned on me that if I wanted to have a vital role in their physical childhood and have those important "Father/Son" moments, I needed to CHANGE and get off my sedentary lifestyle butt. I was finally motivated to do something when I saw my kids one day plop in front of the TV one day with sugary snacks just like Daddy did at the end of the day. My childhood was spent outside every possible second and I rarely had time to watch TV and just vegetate. How could I blame them when they were learning from their Dad? I told myself enough of this, it's time to get serious if not for myself then for my children!
So here I am just a few days (3 days consecutive logging in!) into tracking my food and recording my exercise. I've been walking and jogging for a week now and feel much better. This is just the beginning and I hope that my self-discipline will sustain me and motivate me enough to keep this up and hold myself accountable in front of you all so that I can acheive my fitness goals. My dream goal is to hit my Navy boot camp weight of 210 lbs and take a picture in my "Cracker Jack" uniform after all these years.
