I know all the reasons to stay motivated, I also know that this process takes time. It won't happen over night and I shouldn't expect it to. But I'm doing everything Im supposed to. I count my calories and am honest as i possible can shot of getting a food scale (which i'm in the market for), I eat six times a day, I excerise Everyday for at least 20 min a day. I switch it up, doing a varitey of different activities as to not get used to one routine.... But yet everytime i step on the scale it says the same number... same number... same number... down .8 or .6 pounds wtf really. At least when i ate whatever i wanted i was happy about it.

    Hey there,
I know it can be frustrating...my first week I gained four pounds after my initial weigh in, and I had been doing everything I was 'supposed' to be doing!! Sometimes our bodies have different plans than we do. They like to do things 'their' way. But don't give up!! Keep motivated, because it WILL come off!! This week I've lost those four lbs plus 4 more so far...crazy.
Are you drinking water? How's your sodium intake?
I'd love to support and keep your motivation going, add me as a friend if you'd like
It's a difficult journey, and all I keep telling myself is it took time to put it on, it will take time to take it off!!
    Keep Positive!!

Stay motivated and don't let that pesky scale get you down. I am right there with you. I workout and eat what I am suppose to, but the scale doesn't seem to go down. Don't get discouraged. Stay strong,, and when you least expect it, the lower number will show up. I am here if you need another friend for support. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!
  • What sort of exercises do you do? How big are your portions for each meal and what types of food? It could be that 20 mins of exercise is insufficient in compensating for your total daily energy consumption from your 6 meals. You should be doing a minimum of 30 mins per day of strenuous exercise.
  • There is always the chance you are gaining muscle. I'd say get a tape measure thing (not sure on prices as I still need one myself...) and take measurements. Other than that, just stay positive.

Also on a side note. Something I overheard from a friend. You need to exercise for at least 30 minutes to raise your heart rate to the point where you can lose weight.

Hang in there. Eventually the scale will move. I have been following MFP since last January. I have lost about 34lbs. That really is a good chunk of weight, but averages less than a pound per week. I exercise pretty much 5-6 days a week for a minimum of 60 minutes. I stay under my calorie goal of1200 calories most days. I do have a treat most days- ice cream or hershey kisses, but that does fall within my calories. My weight loss has been slow, but I am much happier about my weight Jan 2011 than I was Jan 2010. I also feel as though I have a life style that I can live with. I am not deprived of having things I want.

Kel I'm here for ya' girl...you know don't revolve the healthy lifestyle around the scale...I read that sometimes our metabolism changes after we have kids...not to mention the hormones..have a lot to do with that..I agree that sometimes the payout is not just on the scale but on your measurements...you probably dropped a size & don't even know it...don't get discouraged nobody's perfect & no body is the same...& like I told ya before we're gonna do this together ...we all have one thing in common we want to lose weight & get healthy
