Calorie and food scale crisis...any suggestions?

HI,
I'm currently travelling the world with my partner participating in a program called workaway. We are staying with a host family and working on their vineyard in exchange for food and board. Problem is, meal time is a kind of get what youre given affair. Its all home grown and organic, they are totally self sufficient sono packages for me to check and since I'm not cooking I don't know exactly what goes into things. Since all I can do is guess and exercise my butt off, I never really know. I've been at this 3 weeks and lost a bit (.7kg) but I just hate not knowing. I'm working outside up to 10 hrs a day in 30degree heat...last thing I want to do is exercise more to compensate for not knowing what I'm eating...any suggestions? I gained this week but I know that just means I didn't eat at a deficit or exercise enough of it off...I miss cooking and my hrm!
Any help appreciated!

I'm sure you can get at least a vague idea, especially if you ask questions or participate in the cooking. You won't be 100% accurate, but this is only temporary.

Enjoy this lifetime experience . enjoy the food and have a great time. Then when you get home you can get back to any weightloss you wish to. You don't have huge amounts to lose so don't stress over it.

Thanks guys :) yeah we are here until the start of August. The next workaway we do we will get groceries inuded but will be cooking for ourselves so that will be easier. I've learnt my lesson, losing weight on a dairy farm is difficult! Thank goodness I'm not a fan of wine too hehe :)
Not heading back home til December but I'm doing my first 5k in October so lots of reasons to get fitter if not drop a few lbs.
