Omg to the OP I thought I was the only who did this lol. Sometimes I just love laying in bed with my ipod on loud and a bit of sad music that I can relate to.
    I like:
    Goo goo dolls - Iris
Christina Aguilera - Hurt. Walk away. Soar and infact just the majority of her music.
    Destiny's Child - Emotions
    Beyonce - Listen
Little Mix - little me and Change your life
The Script - For the first time, break even and hall of fame.
    To name a few :)

Well, it's hard to do sad in lieu of bittersweet, but. . .

Thousand Foot Krutch - "Look Away"
    Bleach - "Rundown Town"

And, well, c'mon: Samuel Barber - Adagio For Strings. . . (or if you like the choral version: "Agnus Dei")

Bach's Aria in G is also somewhat sad-ish

All Out of Love - Air Supply
Against All Odds - Phil Collins, though mariah carey has a nice cover
    Almost - Tamia

but I have to say, the 80s/90s covers this playlist very well. lol

I have days like that. Personally I like songs that let me float in melancholy. They resonate but never complete, if that makes sense.

I am SUPER eclectic too so all might not be for everyone.
    I like spiritual overtones too.

The songs by Kill Hannah are pretty sad. However I do not recommend listening to such depressing things to make yourself cry. Instead perhaps go to a hospital and help take care of some of the children in there. It will force you to not cry and to have the pleasure to play and get to know some very sweet children. It should make you feel better pretty quickly!
