Muscle in torso area

Hello,

I have lost around 40 pounds on my own. I am 5'10 and 165 pounds now, I am still trying to lose more weight. There is a problem though, I can't tell if it is fat or loose skin around my stomach area. I will be planking with my shirt off and the fat/skin will go towards the middle of my torso and sort of hand down, not too much.

Is there a way to get rid of this? I have been doing a lot of crunches, I did around 300 crunches today. Also, when I sit down, everything piles up even more. It's a pain for me, I have lost so much weight but I still don't look all that great in my torso area.
I still have motivation and I am still working hard.

I just want to know what other workouts are good, I haven't used the gym at all. I need to work on my chest, stomach, and my back.

Main Questions:
-Exercises for chest, stomach, and back at home
-How to get rid of the excess fat/skin that is around my torso area
-Good burning calorie work outs

Thank you.

I can't tell if it is fat or loose skin around my stomach area.

Probably a bit of both. Neither can be targeted with exercises though. Loose skin should snap back within 2 years of losing the weight, since you're young and weren't obese.
I need to work on my chest, stomach, and my back.

What about your legs? They're the biggest muscle group and burn the most calories.

What equipment do you have access to?

Does the stuff that hangs wrinkle up like crepe paper? Then it's skin. If you can pinch it and it has substance, it's fat and skin.

If you have excess fat then crunches won't help, do something to lose fat - strength train/ cardio mix.

You have done great so far! Keep at it, don't get discouraged.

Definitely work legs or full body.

    I have a bicycle, which I ride a lot.
But it is really hot where I live and impossible to ride very long.
I also have a workout machine, for arms and legs at the house.

Some of it does hang like crepe paper, wrinkled up.
Why won't crunches help with that?
I am still doing cardio, I do jumping jacks a lot and I ride my bike. Although, it is too hot now to ride my bike for where I live.
What specific exercises would you suggest for my stomach and chest?
    Thank you for the support.

Crunches will just end up giving you back problems... Unfortunately its just not possible to loose weight in a specific area, your body will decide where it will burn off the fat. You should really do bodyweight squats and lunges if you don't have equipment for your leg work and maybe incorporate burpies and push-ups. I had the same problem with loose skin and all you can do is wait, with time it gets better... Just avoid missionary for a while :drinker:
