But now I must assssssk.

I have a spot on my backside right leg "top" that feels like a sun burn. It feels like a rash, like pulled skin even. I don't want to go into the doctors for it...hubby played doctor and said there is nothing there. ??? So anyone know what can be going on? I guess it also feels like when you sit with too short shorts on leather and get up. OUCH! It just never goes away. It has been a good two weeks thus far.

ANYONE?

I'm trying to be strong! But I'm sick of pain!

Do you remember injuring or straining it at all?

Sometimes, a pulled muscle can feel "hot"--does it feel like that?

Not hot...I mean, I'm hot, but I don't seem to be extra hot there...Hokay, I AM extra hot there, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Would this be a "pre" stretch mark feeling or something like that? Maybe it is an alien trying to find its' way out through my skin.

It could be neuralgia (sp), which is when the skin feels very sensitive, but there is nothing there. From the word neura, I would imagine it comes from nerve, hence, maybe an inflammation of a nerve. Google the word, see if it is that. HTH and good luck.

PS: I must say your sense of humour is amazing and very entertaining. Good job on the weight loss too. You look great!

Of course your a smoking hawtty! But I would tell you to go see your doc! Something that has no apparant cause needs to be addressed. Best to simply go in, and find out what it is, and then start healing up, hun!

Ever injured you back? Sometimes pain referred from the back masks as localized pain.

Are you sure its not your Sciatica nerve? I have a sharp pain every so often in my upper leg. Very painful sitting doesn't help ether. I need to go to the doc but I don't have the money to go. Best thing is get your weight off your leg when you have the pain and heat all so helps.

I WOULD HAVE IT CHECKED OUT BY YOUR FAMILY DOCTOR OR DERMITOLOGIST (sp?) TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE. :noway:

I too have had sciatic pain that starts right above my buttocks and can go down through my leg.

Hm, feels like a rash, but nothing there... I guess that you couldn't have some type of bug bite?
I've broken out so many times, I have the worlds most sensitive skin.

Only a doc could truly give you an answer, maybe you could ask a pharmacist at CVS or Walgreens or wherever you get meds.

Nope...don't think it is that...I'm googling and finding nothing.

    This bites!

More like a "patch" of skin area...

Repeat after me, go to the Doctor! That's what they are for! Unless someone in here is a MD or a DO, and can also perform a clairvoyant examination, then I wouldn't be too totally confident of everyone's prognostication. :flowerforyou: C'mon hun, you're a big gurl, let's just pick up that phone and dial the doc for a "quickie" to see what it is. That way, the doc can get you the specific treatment you need.
luvya hun! But thanx for the socks, the complement the grey musculature, hehehe

My hubby is military...the LAST thing I really want is to go into my freaky doctor. We are in the process of switching, so maybe I'll go in...ugggg...I hate that! She has moments of greatness followed by over drugging, ignoring that I'm allergic to some drugs, giving extra shots I didn't want for my kids, followed by another glimpse of brilliance... :grumble:

Makes you want to call right away, ey?

Glad you liked the socks. It was hard picking out which ones to put on...pink ones, or blue to match my eyes. Hummm...

I hate Navy docs--they do their best, I know but gessh! the last one I had told me it was "no problem" if my BG levels stayed above 150 all the time and my BP was 140/90. That was "ok" according to her! HA! anyway, we live too far from any base now, so they let us see civilian docs. Plus, not all bases see retirees...:grumble:

PL, you could try going to webmd.com and using the symptom checker. That may at least give you an idea of what it could be.

Oh yeah, if you're active duty personnel, Navy docs are great. Try being dependent or retired or retired dependent. Can you say "back of line--no hurry to see you whatsoever" You get put last for appointments, last for prescriptions, and sometimes made to feel like you're a drain on the system. My DH was "promised" free medical care for life when he upped--lol, yeah right!

they don't retiries here in Ft Worth but the pharmcy is full everyday. I hate to hear the system is like that for one someday I'll be retired and the other is the people who lead the way before me, should be treated better.

Suck it up? Ya, if a doctor tol me to "suck it up???" That's why I'm not going in...I don't want someone to treat me like I'm a stupid whinny wife. I get that look at least once a year so I try to avoid visits... LOL

We are AF. They are great doctors often, but just getting that "you are stupid" talk or feeling, makes me soooooooo upset. I just can't bare it most of the time. You have to go sometimes "in the mood" to be treated like you are an idiot, and lately, I'm just not up for it. LOL

We lived at the campground on Andrews AFB for a year and I had to use the AF pharmacy. OH BOY! What a mess! I had such a hard time getting them to "accept" my prescriptions, as they were issued by the Navy and apparently in their minds, there was a difference. They wanted me to see an AF doc to get all new prescriptions! Then, they said they weren't seeing retirees at Andrews and I would have to be seen at Walter Reed, as that was the only med facility taking retirees in Northern VA! When I pointed out that wasn't AF either, they said they wouldn't take their prescriptions either! All this from the enlisted guy running the desk. Nothing against enlisted (my DH is retired E-8) but I knew he didn't have final say, so demanded to see the OIC. After a couple hours going around in circles, they finally consented to give me my refills. Then, every time I had to call in for a refill, I had issues. I finally just started using an outside civilian pharmacy and paying the co-pay. They tell you that you can get free meds at military pharmacies but they don't make it easy to do that!

Hmmmmmm--what was the first thing I said????? Maybe next time you'll listen to me little lady

That said--let me warn you....several opportunities in life to deal with muscle injuries speaking here, and if it's a pulled muscle not much can be done other than to give you some pain killers and tell you to rest, compression, elevate, and rest. I forget if it's ice or heat you put on it though....

    FOUND IT! It's R.I.C.E.--see below

"Running, aerobics and other forms of exercise are good for your health, but these activities can raise your risk for sprained joints, strained muscles and other minor injuries. Proper care in the first day or two after injury can reduce the time you're sidelined by it. Should you suffer a sprain, strain, pull, tear or other muscle or joint injury, treat it with R.I.C.E. -- Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. R.I.C.E. can relieve pain, limit swelling and protect the injured tissue, all of which help to speed healing. After an injury occurs, the damaged area will bleed (externally or internally) and become inflamed. Healing occurs as the damaged tissue is replaced by collagen, perhaps better known as scar tissue. Ideally, the scar tissue needs complete repair before a full return to sport is recommended. "
