I almost flipped out and screamed to my roommate with joy... then remembered she is a vegetarian.0

Beans and rice? Doesn't sound very low carb to me.
Also it's not very "paleo" to have un-natural reduced fat dairy products.
Ohh Taco Bell....

Ha! Chipotle lower those prices or we're done!0

I usually choose the 140 calorie Chicken Fresco Tacos (only 30 calories from fat!!!):
http://www.tacobell.com/food/menuitem/Fresco-Chicken-Soft-Taco
Not only are they healthier than just about everything else on the menu, but I personally think they taste better, too. I am not a big fan of Taco Bell ground beef. I seriously doubt Paleo people chose to eat the lips and buttholes of the animals they hunted except under dire circumstances. They also had a life span of about 30 years.0 -

I love the chicken fresco tacos! Three of them = 420 calories & 30 g of protein (and the pico de gallo tastes way better than their "cheese").
But Paleo? At Taco Bell? Yeah, that's not Paleo (sour cream/cheese/tortillas on their Power menu =/= Paleo). I'm not Paleo, and I can "do" it better than that, lol!0 -

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see options cropping up - sometimes a girl just wants a damn taco without having to spend 600 calories on it - but.. yeah, it's weird seeing an entire corporation miss the mark so, so, so completely. Did anyone explain to them what paleo is? Like.. ever?0

Paleolithic humans ate mostly grains0

" According to the Institute of Medicine, women should consume about 46 grams of protein a day, and men should consume 56."
Um, what?? Where did they get these numbers? And here I am disappointed in myself when I don't hit over 100 grams in a day...0 -

" hey marketing department, i heard there is this new word that is marketable"
" really? (tents fingers like mr burns) excellent, do tell"
" its paleo!. its like... people eat like cavemen or something. you know. a mammoth leg for dinner"
"interesting. well... we could add more meat to our tacos"
"shouldnt we like... reaearch it first"

For fast food, better to stop some where to pick up some nuts and juice.0

Like I said, the Chicken Fresco Tacos are actually tasty AND healthy for you. They contain chicken, salsa, and a tortilla - that's it.
Several fast food chains are including healthier options these days. If you're on the go or if your friends just want to eat something quick, you can often still eat healthy food with some careful attention to the menu. Pull out your smart phone, and find the item on the menu that fits your diet and health concerns. That way you don't have to be the one person in the group that always picks the restaurant, as if your diet is some kind of extreme food allergy and/or a reason for extreme condescension toward your non-dieting chubby friends.
And if your friends want Rallys, and there is clearly nothing healthy on the menu whatsoever, then GO BIG and get two Big Bufords, a large fries, and a 32 oz root beer and just.... friggin' enjoy it. Go ahead, pig out, and don't look back. Because that stuff may be horrible for you, but damn does it taste good - once a year.0 -
I'll stick with the Crunchwrap supreme.0

In the article I read, they aren't actually saying these are "paleo" items, they just noticed the paleo thing is trendy, and customers are asking for extra meat in their orders a lot more. So they wanted more items with a higher protein content than their typical stuff.
I can't explain it, but there are days when nothing else but Taco Bell will do!
And yeah the Crunchwrap is awesome it does require some planning to fit in those calories though!0 -
Went there a few nights ago after the casino. Saw the new power protein chicken bowl picture on the drive-thru menu - "that looks good I'll try that." "Sorry sir, the cantina items are only available until 11PM". What, did the "Cantina Chef" go home or something?
"Crunchwrap supreme, please".0 -
All this talk about Paleo, I'm still wrapping my head around the concept that people still eat at Taco Bell. Have some respect for yourself. You can eat 400 calories of toxic waste too, and I'm sure that would be more forgiving on your intestinal system than the "food" at Taco Bell.
I'm glad you don't eat it, more Taco Bell for me.0 -

pretty weird because "cantina" means "bar" in spanish and as such I'd expect their "cantina" items to be available during "happy hour" and "bar times" so...until 2am.0 -

I guess I'm trying to understand that if my dating style shows no self respect, why should my fast food habits?0 -

I mean, to each their own; my family eats Taco Bell all the time and it's not like it effects me at all. I just know that most of their selections (especially the ones people generally gravitate towards) are high calorie. When it's worked into someone's calorie goal it's totally fine, but I just can't stand the stuff so I would rather eat something I like.
But if someone really likes Taco Bell, then they should go for it. I just personally don't see the appeal at all.0
