Breast feeding

Can any one help? How do I incorporate exclusive breastfeeding (5 month old) to my food diary? How many cals on average does breastfeeding use? Thanks :)

There is an entry in the food journal if you search breastfeeding - it adds a negative amount of calories depending on how often you are feeding

I have read it burns around 300-400 calories a day :-)

I was also told not to go under 1700 calories a day to make sure you keep up your supply.

Psych is right! There's a breastfeeding option in the food journal. It'll set your daily calories to the minus range to start your day off to make sure you're eating enough. =)

There's also a super helpful breastfeeding community here too.

Everyone will burn different amounts of calories when breastfeeding, so its a bit tricky.
I entered it for a while, but quickly decided it wasn't worth guessing. 300 calories wasn't going to make a huge difference to me.

I say listen to your body! It will tell you if you're eating too much or not enough.
