What time do you weigh?

I've noticed that I weigh more in the morning than I do in the afternoon...often by as much as 3 pounds! What's up with that??? I used to hear that you should weigh in the morning, but all that does is depress me for the day since I always weigh less in the afternoon.
When do you weigh and why do you use that time?

First thing in the morning.0

I weigh myself in the morning as I tend to be lighter then and it's part of my morning routine.
But to be honest it doesn't matter what time you weigh yourself as long as you always weigh yourself at the same time, on the same scales in the same clothes (or no clothes), you will see the general patten.0 -
First thing in the morning (after I have used the bathroom).0

Wake up, use bathroom, weigh in!0

Second thing in the morning. After using the bathroom.0 -

^^^ I agree with this.
My preference is to weigh myself in the morning.0 -
I also weigh less later in day than first thing in morning. I weigh in at 10 or so.0

Its doesn't matter as long as its the same time, same conditions every day. I weigh in the morning so that I'm weighing when my tummy is the most empty.
If seeing your weight fluctuations throughout the day is messing with your head, stop weighing multiple times a day.0 -
I also weigh in first thing in the morning, right after going to the bathroom but before breakfast. That will be your most accurate reading0

First thing Sunday morning. You're going to drive yourself crazy if you look at those numbers EVERY. SINGLE. DAY! So many things can affect your day-to-day weight that it isn't worth checking all the time. Bowl movements, water weight...etc. can change your weight by as much as 5 or 6 lbs so do yourself a favor and chop it to once a week.0

I weigh around 7 give or take after I go to the bathroom. Seems the best time to do it.0

I'm a weirdo. I weigh myself first thing in the morning and maybe 7 more times throughout the day haha. I just like seeing water food, water, exercise, etc, does to me.0

6 am daily. I don't think time matters as much as consistency.0

I don't bother anymore, F that scale.0

Yep. I always hop on the scale on my way to the shower.0 -
First thing in the morning, after I use the bathroom. I either weigh naked or in underwear.
Consistency matters more than anything. And I know it's consistent in the morning because I haven't had anything to eat or drink yet.0 -
Agreed ^0

My weighing routine is to get up in the morning, wash my hands, put on my contacts, use the restroom, wash my hands again, put down the scale in the same exact spot as the day before and weigh myself a few times to ensure that I get the same result at least twice in a row for accuracy.0

First thing in the morning after using the restroom. I usually step on 3 separate times and take the average. Hope this helps!0

I weigh first thing in the morning, after I pee and before I shower0

First thing in the morning, after I pee, naked. I step on, look down, step off, move on. I never weigh myself later in the day. Day to day fluctuations are plenty, thanks.0

^^^^This. Weighing yourself at the same time each day is more important than when you weigh. Having said that, I weigh in first thing in the morning. Its part of my routine. I don't pay to much attention to the daily weight as it will fluctuate a bit, but I use it as a guide to keep me on track. My "offical" weigh in is on Friday mornings at the gym.0 -
I weigh myself in the morning too. I am often lighter in the evening as well, but I think that is due to lost water after my evening Krav Maga classes.
I keep a water bottle by my bed, and end up drinking quite a bit as I fall asleep/when I get up. I feel like my weight is probably most accurate in the morning (no food, but no longer dehydrated), so I tend to weigh then. Plus it is easier for me to remember.
As long as you weigh yourself at about the same time every time you do it, it doesn't really matter when it is. Look more for trends, than actual number.0 -

I do this too, haha.
It might be gross, but I find it kinda entertaining to weigh myself before and after using the bathroom too, just out curiosity.0 -

In the morning after the bathroom, 6:15 am.0

1st thing in the morning....I have been up to 6 lbs heavier the same night between all of the food and liquids I have consumed I would imagine)0

You should weigh yourself at the same time. I usually weigh myself in the morning because that is when people are the lightest (like other people have mentioned). Only weigh yourself once a week so you can see improvement. If you weigh yourself every day then you might be unmotivated to continue with exercising/dieting/etc. You don't see significant changes in weight day to day but you might from week to week. Choose a day of the week and weigh yourself on that day at the same time in the morning. You'll notice better results than doing it every day.
And yes, our bodies do fluctuate from morning to night. We are lighter in the morning because we have not eaten anything. As the day progresses we each lunch then dinner so it's natural that we would weigh more before going to bed. Our bodies will usually fluctuate between 2-4 pounds a day when weighing at night because of the food.0
