Hi,
Okay I'll start by telling you about myself, I'm Male 24 and I'm 6 ft 4" I weigh 260 lbs and want to lose the belly I've got, I set a target of 42 lbs by Christmas time, I have never dieted before, I do light exercise like walking for about 20-30 minutes every couple of days, I need to know how many calories to eat, What to eat and what is really good for you, I am a total noob at this so all help is appreciated, I was thinking of eating around 1000-1200 calories with some walking each day? This good or bad? I just want to lose weight fast well the belly at least cause I Realise I'm a big guy and I will be heavy anyways, All help will be very much appreciated, Many Many Thanks.

a 1000-1200 calories a day for your height and weight is WAY too low. i would say double that to around 2400-2500 at least maybe more.0

Did you GAIN it fast??
its said that 75% weight loss is determined by what you put in your mouth... in general, burn off more than you put in..... but slow & steady wins the race0 -
1000-1200 is far too low.
What did MFP tell you your calorie goal is when you input all your info?
Or set it up by reading this:

Change what you eat. That’s how I did it and I lost 91 pounds without exercise.
If interested, I shared my experience on this non commercial, no selling page:

Your BMRis 2487 and yoru TDEE is 2985 and that is at the lowest setting of little or no exercise. So your TDEE -20% is 2388. So yeah 1000-1200 is way to low! Eat TDEE 2388 move a little and you'll get there.0

Healthy Eating is the key, exercise is a really important for your health and getting the body you want, but nutrition to me is the most important part. Log your calories, check out the fooducate app and see if the foods you are eating are really as healthy as you think they are. Do a workout program you enjoy, if you hate it, you probably won't do it. Feel free to add me as a friend for support! Just remember that it's not about how FAST you can lose the weight, if you want to lose 20 pounds a week, its not gonna happen unless you cut an arm off. Good luck0

I would try a Keto diet. The hubby has lost 35 pounds in about 8 weeks. I'm down 20 in the same time.

You and me are about the same height and the same starting weight. I dropped the weight, in about 3 months, just by tracking my food closely and hitting the gym a couple days a week0
