Why are you trying to lose weight?

Hey guys, I'm a newbie here!

Just turned 18 and I'm trying to lose weight before college starts. :) I have a hard time staying away from food so I've always been kinda...pudgy (esp. because I'm only five feet tall, so the fat is more obvious). I think losing weight, especially right now before college, will make me feel more confident and happy.

So, what are your reasons for losing weight?

Feel free to add me! All and any tips/stories are appreciated.

    Hey!
I'm 24, and I want to lose weight because It's starting to get to the point where I can't do the things that I love (Playing with the kids, exercising, etc.). I've got 135 lbs to lose!

One tip that I have is plan your day - know what you're going to eat before you eat it, that way, when the munchies do strike, it's easier to tell yourself, "no, we have to wait until such and such a time and we have this meal planned already." Makes all the difference for me!
  • Heya, my name is Emily. I'm 18. I'm about 5'5" and I currently weigh 170.0lbs. I've always struggled with my weight, and I'm hoping to lose about 15-20lbs with the help of MFP, diet, and gym time.

I'm always open to criticism, and I love encouraging others.

I want to lose weight for myself. I've always been the "fat friend" and I'm sick of getting looks in public, and not being able to look at myself in the mirror! Also, buying size 11 pants.. Really tough. Anyway, I can't wait to see where this journey takes me!

    Hey there.
Good luck in your weight loss journey.
I put weight on whilst being stationary after surgery so it went on very fast. That means almost everything in my wardrobe is a smaller size. I want to wear those clothes again but right now find myself in leggings and a dress every single day lol. Confidence has taken a dive and so has my fitness levels so it's time to hit the gym and the diet again! It's only the beginning, I've just gritted my teeth to keep up in spin class and there's plenty more of that to go :-)
    Kind regards
