Struggling with the last 15-20lbs

Hello! Have been successful in getting a solid 20lbs off and meeting that first goal, but am really struggling with the next one. I feel 'okay' enough with where I am, but would love to keep going.

I've always heard that the last 10-15 are the hardest to lose--anyone else having the same problem???

  • you wont melt away the last few pounds like you do the others just because thats how the body works. Your body want to keep a certain fat% so you really have to tune in the diet and work a lot harder for them lasts few pounds. so i have read at least. will see when i get there :) good luck!!

The less you have to lose, the more slowly it comes off. That's just the way the human body works. Set your goal to .5 lb. per week, and be patient. The smaller deficit will also help you transition to maintenance.

And the margin of error gets smaller as you lose, so you need to log everything you eat & drink even more accurately & even more honestly.

Yeah, the last 20 pounds are a jerk. They just don't want to leave. Compound that with trying to keep as much muscle as possible, and you've got a perfect recipe for slow, slow weight loss. It'll happen; you just gotta stick with it, and find a routine that you can live with for a few months.

Yes! I have been stuck at the same weight for a year now no matter what I do! For me I just try not to get too upset about it because I am gaining muscle and have lost a few pants sizes. Consistency is the most important thing but I hear ya!! It is really really frustrating!!
