Hi and welome to MFP - I weigh in once a week - same time, same day, Good luck with your weight loss journey :flowerforyou:0

Welcome to MFP! I weigh myself once a week usually on Wednesday.0

I weigh myself daily just to keep myself on track. Luckily, I don't get obsessive with it and it actually helps me. I use Friday's as my measure in day. I weigh myself and use a tape measure and record my numbers. Every other day is just to check but I only acknowledge Friday's weight and measurements/0

Everyday because I'm impatient. :-)
It's probably not good, but I like, need to see the number to keep me sane.
Once a week is probably a good rule of thumb.
Also, I was told never to weigh in after exercise. I usually weigh in (naked) in the morning.0 -
honestly? like 7x a day. LOL0

twice a day: once in the mornign and once before bed. But I'm maybe not the best example of how oftern you should be stepping on the scales. 1x a week sounds like the consensus best idea from most people, although I think there are probably alot of us who step on the scale daily.0

I posted this same topic when I first started. Tons and tons of poeple said they weigh in on a daily basis but only record once a week. After reading all of the posts I figured okay I can do the same, but boy did it mess with my head. I find that picking one day to weigh in, once a week, at the same time works perfect. That way you don't see all the ups and downs your body goes through druing the week and you get a more accurate account of weight loss. =o) Good Luck!0

I weigh myself daily to keep in check but I dont agonize over the number as I know day to day we hold water etc. Although I way myself everyday I generally concentrate on my Sundays weight!0

For the first number of months I had to actually put my scale in the garage and only weigh once per week. I would obsess about every ounce otherwise. Now that I have calmed down about it and know that these fluctuations are normal I actually do weigh myself every morning but I ONLY record my weight as it is on Friday mornings.0

Once a week, Mondays...0

I don't really weigh myself as i think i'd just start to get competitive with numbers! Its bad enough that i have to eye myself against other women/girls! I'll do it every now and again though, maybe once a month! Its an ok way of measuring your progress as its easy to step onto a scale although my advice is just be careful! If you are doing exercise and strengthening then you'll develop muscle which weighs more than fat! Just remember that! If you focus solely on the numbers going down there's little chance you'll be doing yourself any good, especially in the long run!0

I weigh in every Friday morning. My wife and I have our weekly "cheat meal" every Friday night, so that gives me all week to work it off.0

I weigh myself weekly on Sunday. I think that if I weighed myself daily, I would drive myself nuts and possibly lead myself to an eating disorder.0

According to studies, people who weigh themselves daily tend to weigh less. I can't tell you which studies, because my husband told me this, and he reads 2389743 health and science magazines.. but he did lose 35 pounds and has kept it off for almost two years. He weighs himself everyday.
I used to think once a week, but I've now picked up the habit of weighing myself daily. It helps you keep yourself in check. :-)0 -
Me too.. I find weighing myself daily helps me keep track of what direction I'm going.0

I have weighed myself every morning ever since I began my lifestyle change. I have tried several times to switch to once or twice a week, but always go back to daily just out of curiosity. 50+ pounds later, it hasn't led to any psychological distress and I don't beat myself up over fluctuations.0

I weight myself daily, in the morning right when I get up .. naked (hey, every little bit counts). I usually record anytime I have a loss. I have read that it is not good to weight yourself daily but I don't get obsessive about it, it is more to keep me on track and help me plan my day/week. It works for me but may not work for everyone!
Good Luck!0 -
I weigh myself every Sunday morning first thing after I wake up, (well, second thing technically, after using the restroom, heh) wearing the exact same thing every single time.
In the last few months, I've added a Wednesday morning, (same routine as above) check-in, but don't allow myself to jump on the scale any other time, no matter how much I want to.
The only deviation from that was for about 19 days during the holidays where I was still tracking every bite, but being a bit looser with my calories and not working out. During that time I weighed myself almost every morning. More for the sake of interest then anything. I was intrigued by the general daily ups and downs and how much my weight could actually fluctuate during but still ultimately come out the same in the end.0 -
Great topic! I am obsessive about weighing myself, and want to every day..Unfortunately, I will get depressed when I don't see any weight loss or see weight increase due to bloating, menustrating, etc..And that sticks in my head the whole day..So, I finally had my boyfriend hide the damn thing. He said I can have it back in a week!0

I weigh myself daily. But I weigh in on Tuesdays (recording my weight on MFP)0

Barberella:
I'm that same way. I'm very competitive and I will dwell on things. If I don't see any progress, I get frustrated and depressed and then that just drives me to insanity, where I do things in excess trying to make things happen. Yes, my personality can easily lead to an eating disorder so I have to be careful.0 -

What a great idea !!!!0 -
I Weigh in every morning before drinking or eating anything.0
-
Once a week, Friday mornings Sometimes, if I feel like I am having a bad week and I need some reassurance, I will weigh myself on a Wednesday or something.0
-
I used to weigh daily but theirs too much fluctuation day to day....so I do a weekly weigh in every Thursday morning as soon as I get up and after a wee visit to the loo. :happy:0
-
