Macros vs calories

I'm at a stand still with my weight loss. I'm at 1500 calories. I was thinking maybe I should decrease my calories to 1300 or so.
Or should I switch up my macros. Currently they are 50% carbs 25 % protein and fat.
What has worked for you? Suggestions welcome.thanks!

Before you start messing with your macros, which sound fine to me, make sure that you are logging accurately. Only after that can you determine if 1500 calories is too much for your size.
How did you determine that number? How long have you been stalled?0 -
I'll echo Sherry's thoughts, as well as asking:
Do you exercise (cardio and/or weights)?
How do you feel? Are you hungry and lethargic or do you feel like you are eating enough?
How are you measuring your progress? Pics, measurements, performance or just the scale?0 -
Oh okay. I have been stalled since may. I got 1500 because i calculated my bmr on one of those online calculators and it said it's 1695.
But my fitness pal says 1200 if I want to lose 2 lbs a week. Which I would love to do!0 -
I do cardio running walking about 3-5 times a week and not much weights. I will start to incorporate that more. I mainly go from the scale and the way my clothes fit. The scale hasn't budged and my clothes are fitting the same no change.0

I do often feel hungry in evening but not overly famished.0

You can still redo your macros and keep your calories. If you want to drop your calories down to the 1200 that MFP gives you, keep in mind, that MFP is designed to have you eat back the calories you burn during exercise so that you net 1200.
Basically, you can eat 1500 and then go running/walking and burn 300, thereby netting 1200. By using the BMI calculators the 1500 doesn't require you eat back the burned calories. If you did eat 1500, then burn 300 and eat that, then you would net 1800.0 -

Well. MFP bottoms out at 1200 calories. So for example if I'm really small and need to eat 1250 per day to lose 1/2 lb per week, if I plug in 1lb, 1.5 lb or 2 lbs per week as my desired weight loss, MFP will give me 1200 for all three. What calorie targets do you get if you use either of the other weight loss settings?
Did you get a chance to read the sexy pants post? Lots of good info there:

Like another poster mentioned if you're not losing weight you need to make sure you truly are eating 1500 cals and not much more. Take a look at these, you may find some tips here useful:
