Banging my head on the desk

Do you even mass, density or volume?0

I am banging my head on the desk because it seems like everyone is killing themselves with workouts and doesn't track their food. I thought this was kind of the POINT of My Fitness Pal...logging your calories.
smh
After watching this gif several times, I realized that prior to being hit, his head moves... the camera angle and change doesn't give it away. I can't believe I wasted time posting this.0 -
IN for banging OPs head on the desk.
FIFY
IN for banging!0 -
But...a bucket of muscle weighs more than a bucket of fat. No one ever said both were five pounds.0

It depends on how big each bucket is.....0 -
To be fair, when we start spending a bunch of time in outer space and on other planets, it really will be important to understand the difference between mass and weight, or else there are going to be a million threads on here about people not being able to figure out why they weigh 50000 lbs on Jupiter when they are logging their calories accurately.0

I'm banging my head on the desk because I have 15 boxes of pamphlets in my office and everybody's asking me if I'm moving.0

I'm sure that what you're trying to say is that muscle masses more than fat, in that a pound of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat,
Because communicating correct information matters.
You know what's incorrect information? That you can gain muscle while at a calorie deficit.0 -
This was covered twice just yesterday. Are you also going to post a Lose vs Loose thread?0

You thought the point was to discuss whether a pound of fat equals a pound of muscle?!?
Why would we discuss that?0 -
A pound of muscle is better than a pound of fat only in that it is denser, and takes up less space. Fully packed instead of cellulite ridden, I know cellulite is not an exact term. Stop banging your head on the desk. That is reserved for getting answering machines or machines when making a phone call0

well i figured since we haven't done that in a couple hours it was time to do it again.
that said, i'm noticing that there are a LOT of bullies and internet online world wide web bullying going on here.
what gives? lets discuss that...0 -
calm down sparky, there are a lot of dieting misconceptions and bro science claims that exists out there. One of my first posts on this site months ago was actually the very thing you are banging your head against the desk for. Was I wrong then? absolutely. Did people educate me about my error and help me to learn better? totally, now I know better and now I'm spreading the word.
Realize there are a lot of fitness and nutrition noobies here that don't know better, you can thank a very confused society for that. I couldn't tell you the number of things I thought i knew before that were actually broscience and myths all along.
Take your head off of the desk and just spread the word. Try not to take it so personally.0 -
people just mean that a muscular person is going to waigh more than a fluffy or "fat" person of the same relative size/volume.0
-
SCIENCE!!
wheeeeee!
(ps. anyone with a brain that works with logic knows that when people say that they dont mean a pound weighs more than a pound. why would anyone ever say or imply that? personally i think the logic that sees people saying a pound is more than a pound when people say it is more flawed than the one that says muscle weighs more than fat... in my opinion)
LOGIC!!! it goes well with science.
For the win! :flowerforyou:0 -
