Crossfit and Treadmill?

Hello,
I am a busy mom and work full time. For the past 3 months I've been attending crossfit twice a week, and spend 30-40 minutes on the treadmill another day or two in the week.
What do you think of these two activities together, and the frequency that I attend crossfit? My schedule won't allow me to attend crossfit more frequently, and I do enjoy my time on the treadmill. But it would be good to know if they are compatible or not.
FYI I'm aware of pros and risks of crossfit, and don't need to be persuaded/dissuaded from this activity.
Thanks for any input! My goal is general fitness, not necessarily weight loss. I like how my strength is increasing with crossfit, but I don't want to get bulky (so far I haven't).

Why wouldn't they be? It's not like Crossfit has some sort of formula to their workouts that doesn't let you push yourself to the max and still do something just as stupid the next day.0

why dont you just do it and see what happens?
fitness isnt rocket science just see what works for you if it does and gets you to your goals then great, if it doesnt then who cares if other people think of it as incompatible?0 -
It's totally fine. Check this great article out: http://robertsontrainingsystems.com/blog/long-duration-low-intensity-cardio/. Personally, I would do the treadmill long and slower on a pretty good incline one day a week and do sprint intervals the other.
I do lots of other things besides CF and I CF 3-4x per week. You might also want to take one day per week and do some supplemental strength training since you are only CF'ing 2x per week. I think CF'ing 2x per week is not going to get you in super great shape unless you are doing some of your own programming outside of CF. But, something is better than nothing. Of course, keep doing the treadmill. Swim, hike, lift, dance, work on moblility/do yoga...just keep moving and having fun.0 -
^ good point..
besides that, isnt the point of CROSSfit to be able to do anything fitness related?0 -
Thanks for the tips Kelly! The article was dead on.0

Why wouldn't you be able to do anything else on non-crossfit days?0

I could do something as long as it's at home and usually late night.0
