Have you found that there are some foods that have now become a regular presence in your pantry or fridge since you have embarked in this journey to health? Foods that were really never part of your grocery store list before?

These are my staple foods that have to be readily available to me now. Other than the chicken breast, I never really purchased any of these on a regular basis. Now I cannot live without them.

- Celery
- Dole peach fruit cups
- Granola bars
- Oatmeal
- Apples
- Yogurt
- Eggplant
- Salsa *** YUMMM
- Almonds, Pistachios
- Hummus
- Laughing cow cheese

What are some of yours?

Welcome!

My grocery list hasn't changed a whole lot. The difference is I buy less of the processed stuff (pasta, bread, ramen noodles etc) and more fruits and veggies.

    I always have:
    -eggs
    -spinach
    -cabbage
    -hummus
    -ice cream
    -cookies
    -nutella
    -fish
    -chicken

Might sound like a stupid question but why a protein shake? I see a lot of people incorporate the protein powder and or shake into their diets. What does it do for you?

I have a protein shake as a snack everyday because A. It gives me the extra protein I need to meet my daily macro goals, and B. It tastes amazing like a milkshake and it feels like a daily treat :)

I may have to change my name to Perdue...I am all about the chicken and eggs! Also:

    Frozen Fruit
    Almond Milk
    Coconut water
    Spinach
    Arugula
    Peanut butter
    Oatmeal
    Almonds
    Greek Yogurt
    Cottage Cheese
    Tuna
    Sweet Potatoes
    Protein Powder
    Black Beans
    Hot Sauce
    chickpeas

I feel antsy when I run out or get low on any of these.

Allofme32, I am trying to get more protein. So I make a smoothie in the morning with the frozen fruit, protein powder and either coconut water or almond milk. It's pretty filling and healthy.

Nuts (almonds, pistachios) are the big change in my shopping list. I didn't used to snack on nuts, but they're my preferred treat now.

    Goat Cheese

Most of my other staple items have pretty much stayed the same, I just buy more of some things and less of others. I initially bought the goat cheese from Costco as a replacement for cream cheese and now I put it on everything.

    -Jalepenos
    -Banana peppers
    -Roasted red peppers
    -Salsa
    -Oatmeal
    -Peanut butter
    -Fruit popsicles
    -Special K chips
    -yogurt
    -unsweet tea
    -bananas

I love peppers and the flavor they add to my (sometimes bland) food. I'm less tempted to eat junk if I can have something healthy with some spice to it.
