Preventing loose skin?

I'm 6'2 19 yrs old and currently obese (pretty much most of my life.) I plan on starting a diet plan soon and aiming at losing 5 pounds per month. Is losing 5 pounds in a month realistic and if so can it prevent me having loose skin?

Not an expert by any means, but you starting at 19 will definately help you be successful at keeping the loose skin at bay, or mostly. If you loose slowly, which I believe 5 pounds a month is very doable, and you exercise to tone up your arms/legs/tummy you will def. be successful. As you start rolling along you will gain so much confidence in yourself and will find it easier and easier. I've been on my journey for over 2 years and have lost every where from 1 to 3 or 4 a week. I'm 53 years old and very "flabby", but I'm toning up as much as possible. I will probably have to have surgery when I'm down smaller, but thats because of my age..
Get started now. Good luck to you. Have fun with it! Don't think of it as a chore, just do it!!! :-)0 -
I dont know any definitive answers other than to do toning/weight training to help strengthen muscles, keep your skin hydrated/moisturized. It can't hurt at any rate.0
