If you had to eliminate one group of food from your diet based on the new ChooseMyPlate suggestion, what could you live without?
1. Protein
2. Vegetables
3. Fruits
4. Grains
5. Dairy

I wouldn't take any of them out. Everything in moderation for the most part is ok.
If I had to give something up to succeed it would be alcohol. .0 -

Fruit. I rarely eat it as is.0

I could give up dairy. I am almost dairy free anyway, one of my kids is lactose intolerant, so we already do soy milk, soy yogurt (him), coconut milk ice cream--it wouldn't be that much of a change from what I already do.0
-
I would give up fruit. Since I'm allergic to most fruits anyway, no problem.0
-
Grains. The good ones are an acquired taste...one I haven't really acquired yet.
Dairy. I get almost none anyway, because if don't like it.
I'll give up fruit the day I die.0 -
Grains. They make me retain water. So....I rarely if ever eat them.0
-
Fruits. I have never cared for them for the most part.0
-
Grains - and this is coming from someone who likes most whole grains.
I would also say dairy, but I like cheese too much0 -
Fruit. I just don't like it. Too sweet.0

Other than having an intolerance or allergy, what's the point of eliminating a food group?
That said I have reduced my grain & dairy intake over the last couple years but I would never eliminate either one. I'm not a big bread/pasta person but enjoy rice, quinoa & oats. I have the rare glass of milk but love cheese & Greek yogurt.0 -
I'm not sure about the point of the question.
If a gun was held to my head, I'd eliminate dairy as it would be the easiest to substitute macro-wise. Also, I don't eat that much dairy anyway. A glass of milk a day. Cheese a few times a week. Sometimes I go weeks without eating yogurt. Butter would be the biggest deal there.0 -
Not sure why I would give up anything, but if I had to...grains.

None of them.
Jesus what a miserable life it would be. Plus you've got food types and a macro mixed into the same list. Good luck living without protein...0 -

.... Vegetables. LOL. Easy.0

I have already eliminated dairy but still working on the grains cause I know that they are needed to muscle growth and fruit also in progress0
-
I would like to give up vegetables haha but I eat almost grain free so I will say grains.0

Dairy. You don't NEED it at all. Last time I looked I was not a cow. Dairy is ok if you are a cow, but I'm not.
I am also not into the killing of animals for our own selfish needs & dairy is one of those. People who have dairy are advocating murder & abuse.0 -

You can get protein from other things than dairy. What a silly thing to say.0 -
Dairy but that's easy because I'm lactose intollerant and I try to avoid it anyway haha.0

I create dairy for my children.0 -
I would give up dairy as it is not an essential protein source.0
