Knee Issues! Help!

I just recently started running as this is the best cardio for me to do to lose weight. Last Thursday, I did something to my knees and how experience aching pain on the front of my leg, below the knee cap, right above the shin.

I have been using heat, ice, epson salt, and Ibuprofen to help with the pain, but I still am experiencing pain that does not seem to be getting better. I can walk just fine, it's just more achy in the morning and lifting my legs is more painful.

I don't expect doctor-ly advice, but I was wondering two things: What has helped others to relief the pain permanently and should I still be exercising? I don't want to stop working out, but I also don't want to worsen my condition. Any advice would be helpful!!

Thanks much!

You need to rest those legs for a couple of days, and then consider gentle exercise. It sounds like a shin splint or you have discovered a hot spot which will get worse if you push it.

It'll be ok, rest will not set you back. Rest helps with healing.

See if you can get into a physiotherapist. Those guys know their stuff. They will be able to set you up with stretches and strengthening exercises that are appropriate for the injury.
