Starbucks is my life. Or so it used to be. Back when I was newly married and had only one child.

Like, really - just three people…

Three people’s laundry.
Two sets of sheets.
Three towels.
1 gallon of milk a week.
1 roll of paper towels every two months.

It blows my mind…

Anyhow, as I was saying... Starbucks and I were once a hot item. But now that I have three children, we see one another just a few times a year.

But thankfully, I can make me some Starbucks at home. Home brews have come a long way, haven’t they?

Introducing the Made-At-Home Starbucks Light Caramel Frappuccino (Skinny Kitchen)

Frappuccino Ingredients:
⅔ cup double-strength regular coffee, chilled, see prep tip below
⅔ cup (1%) low-fat milk, see substitution tip below
2 tablespoons caramel topping
4 packages of your favorite sugar substitute
2 teaspoons sugar (yes, the real deal)
1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
2¾ cups ice

Topping Ingredients:
Light whipped cream or light vanilla flavored whipped cream
1½ teaspoons caramel topping

Instructions:
1. Combine chilled coffee, milk, 2 tablespoons caramel topping, Splenda, sugar, vanilla and ice in a blender. Blend on high speed until ice is crushed and drink is smooth. Pour into 2 glasses.
2. Top each glass with 2 tablespoons whipped cream and drizzle about ¾ teaspoon caramel topping over each.
3. Serve at once with a straw, if desired. Makes 2-(12 oz) drinks.

Prep Tip:
Make double-strength coffee by brewing with twice the coffee required by your coffee maker. Use 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per each cup of coffee. Chill before using. Make extra, if desired, to keep on hand in the refrigerator.

Nutrition Info:
One serving is 132 calories and 1.8 grams of fat. This includes a little light whipped cream and caramel drizzle on top. An actual Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino Light has 152 calories and 1.3 grams of fat, NOT including whipped cream or caramel drizzle.

Substitution Tip:
To cut the calories and fat further, use nonfat milk instead of 1%, and all sugar substitute (no sugar). The adjusted nutrition facts still include the toppings - 109 calories and 1gram of fat. :)
