Behind Water Weight

Just a quick question is water weight exactly as it sounds meaning all liquids you drink is stored in your body reflecting on you gaining weight or am I wrong.

I thought no pounds were coming off cause it still says 175 but now when I checked today it says 168 so I'm assuming the weight is coming off, this is the lowest i've ever reached as well.
Another thing is when I weighed 175 ( legit ) and then water weight came it would go to 180 so yeah the calorie deficit is actually working.
Also how do you get rid of water weight, just curious

Well your body is made up of a lot of water, so you really don't want to get rid of the water weight. You just need to know that it is there, and understand that it plays a role in your body weight fluctuation.
Your water weight may fluctuate up if you start a new exercise program, as your muscles will hold water to try and repair themselves from the beating they took. Also if you eat a lot of sodium, it can cause your body to retain more water and increase your water weight. Otherwise it just depends on how much you drink and what you eat.
In the long run, it doesn't matter. This is why a lot of people say don't weigh yourself daily. Some days you may be up, some days you may be down, but if you are doing it right the general trend should be sloping downwards slowly. So don't freak out if you weigh 5 pounds more today than you did yesterday, you couldn't possibly have gained 5 real pounds unless you managed to eat 15000 calories.0 -
Just having a calorie deficit you should be using water in your muscles, it shouldn't be counted as weight loss because it's water and you're going to gain it back.
Exercise also removes water weight through sweat, but some needs replenished during and after the workout.
If the weight doesn't stay off for more than a week and it heavily fluctuates then it's not fat it's water.0 -
Don't get paranoid about water weight just be aware of it. And how it works. Basically it means the water that your body retains as part of its system. Your body retains more water for many reasons. But the most common are.
Dehydration :- When your body is feeling short on water it starts to hoard it. Basically drink more water to stop your body retaining it. Sounds backwards I know but that's how it works.
Salt Balancing :- When you consume an excess of salt your body retains more water to balance it out. So if you eat a lot of salty stuff one day expect the scale to go up. It's not fat. At least not all of it. Just drink plenty of water do some exercise and the salt will eventually pass out of your system.0
