I am a newbie! I don't know why I chose to start this mid week, but why put off tomorrow, right? anyway, I am 31 years old and am 5'2. Yesterday, I decided to hop on the scale and was shocked to see I weighed 170lbs. Not really shocked, I had to buy a larger pant size a few months ago and realized they were starting to get a little tight. 170lbs is not OK with me, so here I am.
I don't know what really to do, but I am going to attempt this. I have managed to go a full day with absolutely no soda. I am a huge soda drinker; upward of 5 or 6 cans a day so I hope that alone helps me in my journey. I have drank water all day, but to get use to it have added the 0 calorie enhancers to it.
Fitness wise, I am way out of shape. Managed to do 20 minutes of not continuous turbo jam, 15 minutes on the elliptical and 20 minutes of pilates. Tomorrow I plan to do the elliptical and go for a walk and maybe get some weights and do some weight activities.
My goal is to get back into the 130s before my husband comes home next may. (he is on deployment)
anyway, that is me..hope I am able to do this!

Please thank him for his service.
Why not start off a little less frantically with your exercise. Walk at a comfortable pace and slowly build up your aerobic fitness before you fail on those machines. Aim for a strong walk of a continuous 45-60 minutes at around 3 mph three or four times a week. Days in between you can reintroduce your self to sit ups and push up etc. Easy. Easy. Go at it hard, feel sore and give up. That is not what you want but it is the elephant in the room for beginners. Just a suggestion. Add me if you are looking for support. :flowerforyou:0 -
Good for you for making a change! Kicking the soda habit will help. I hope you completely shock your husband when he comes home! Feel free to add me!0

There is no better day to start than today. I agree with being careful not to go too hard too fast. Making several small changes over time might be easier to maintain. You said you went from 5-6 cans of soda a day, even if you do have one a week that is still about 41 less a week than before, one a day is 35 less a week than before! Good luck and remember, everything in moderation, even the good stuff0
