I quite often find myself getting the "starvation mode" prompt with my daily food/excercise diary. I'm not trying to do this, I just can't seem to eat enough calories each day. I eat whenever I'm hungery, whether it's a "meal time" or not. Believe me, calories were never a problem before, which is why I'm now on the Atkin's diet (suggested by my cardiologist). If you saw me you might think I'm a bit overweight, but according to my BMI, I'm obese. I need to lose weight not only for my long run health, but because it's impacting my active life. But it is remarkably tough to get enough calories from meat, especially if you choose relatively heathy ones. I'm eating more than my share of bacon, steak and hamburger, often just to try and add more calories. Although I am content to eat tuna with pickles, olives and onion, often I add mayo, not for the taste, but for the calories. I think part of it is the dry mouth side effect of Atkin's--as much as I'm drinking (water), it's hard to have an empty stomach. If anyone is on Atkin's and has found a way around this, I'd love to hear from you.
