Thank you so much for sharing this - reading all these posts has made me feel so much better.
I had Mirena put in in April 2014. As soon as it was inserted I felt very bloated, and that feeling has never really gone away. I went back to the doctor to have the position checked early June, and had gained 10 lbs. My doctor was surprised, but said that it was likely water retention and offered to prescribe me some diuretics. I did not do this because I don't like the potential side-effects. Yes, I drink too much and my eating habits aren't perfect - but before Mirena was inserted my weight was steady, and my habits have not changed. I have gained, in total, around 15 lbs since the insertion.
I think I will make an appointment to get it removed...0 -
I've had the Mirena for about 5 years now and my weight has been relatively stable. I might be a bit bloated but I haven't noticed any side effects. Since mine's expiring now I'm considering having a second inserted.0
