I work monday thru friday 730am-4pm...I work 30 min from home so I have to get up and leave relatively early to get to work every day, I also have 2 kids whoms daycare is only open until 530...So doesnt leave me much time to work out every day...I want to start getting up about 430am and heading to the gym...any ideas as to how to get that extra UMPH or energy to get up n goto the gym that early?! That bed feels SOOOOOOO amazing at 430am LOL

sorry I am not a morning workout person...I prefer to do it in the afternoon or evening...and I do it at home.
But that being said just do it. Set the alarm and get up. Energy might come from going to be a bit earlier the night before.
A big cup of coffee on the way to the gym.0 -
I second the coffee on the way to the gym, I drink it WHILE I work out. I am not a morning person, yet I get up and do morning workouts.
1. I like working out fasted (aside from coffee), and morning is the only time I haven't eaten, lol
2. It's done and over with, I now have no excuses not to do it
3. I can shower and get on with my day
4. The gym is much less crowded0 -
I go at 5:00 a.m.. You get up, have a cup of coffee and go. It's done early and you feel accomplished for the day. Also, as I don't eat prior to going, it's called a fasted workout, so theoretically you're burning more stores. After awhile it becomes habit and you just do it!0

I am trying to get back to this! For about a month I just did one day a week in the morning to get used to it then added a second and third- eventually all my workouts aside from weekends were EARLY! I got out of it recently due to a temp. work schedule change.... but I am going to get back to it again starting with just one day a week at 5 am then gradually adding more days...0

I actually feel better after working out in the morning. Somedays I work out after work, and some in the morning, depends. Fridays and the weekends I have been working out in the mornings because if I relax at home all day I don't want to work out. I've never tried drinking coffee before, that sounds amazing. I love coffee!0

My dad has been doing this literally since I can remember. He says the best way to have energy in the morning is to get really good rem sleep in.
He dosen't drink anything with caffeine after lunch.
He makes sure he gets in bed at least an hour before he wants to actually sleep and does something relaxing, like reading, to produce melatonin.
He keeps all the windows totally blacked out (because sunlight causes your brain to produce serotonin).
He makes sure he wakes at the exact same time EVERY day. Eventually his body got used to it and he wakes up minutes before his alarm even goes off.
Once he's awake he stretches first thing, turns lights on full blast, and listens to something like music or TV with his coffee to stimulate his brain and feel more alert.0 -
Why do you need 3 extra hours to workout? Even if your gym is a bit far, you shouldn't need more than 2 extra hours in the morning. You could also buy some workout videos or find something to do at home for just 1 hour before your normal wake up or even after you pick the kids up, such as if they go to sleep 30 min or more before you.0

I work 30 minutes from home, so I have to get up, get to the gym, do my workout then have time to still shower and look presentable, and get to work on time0
