How much Calories we need for BURNINIG calories?

Hello!
When we eat, we intake food that contains energy.
When we burn it by mathces or stones, it relieses warmth.

But...

In our bodies
we do nto have matches
we have physiological processes that serve to stimulate chemical changes that loose energy from the food (bla bla...)

So, how much energy does our body need to STIMULATE burning, and how can we count that?

Many thanks!!!

It's part of BMR. Sorry no extra calories - also no real zero calories foods.

Does it mean, if I take 300 Calories food, then my body will GET +300 Calories, and not loose any -X calories to burn it, so -X= 0
    and

final result is I get right 300 Calories, nothing less in the end?;)

10% is probably high. We are dealing with estimates and unless you have the money to do all the metabolic testing to get more precise numbers and redo the testing as you lose weight, counting digestion as extra burn really doesn't seem logical. Also the calorie counts on foods are estimates so error rate can easily be +/- 10%.

Easy. Go to college, get a degree, go to graduate school and make it your area of research.

    Then report back to us.

    Cheers!

Which college do I need for that?
    And what job after it?

(just curious, no marks for answers)
