breakfast

I keep hearing a lot of things about eating breakfast. I generally dont have an appetite for breakfast in the morning so i just drink water and sometimes coffee as well. I am okay until lunch and it does not make me over eat. So my question is, is it ok to skip breakfast? I *heard* skipping it will slow your metabolism yada yada.. If it is going to hinder my weight loss then I guess I will have to start forcing something down in the morning.

Don't believe the BS. Breakfast is the first meal of the day, whether it's at 4am or 1pm. The ony thing you really have to worry about for weight loss is eating less than your maintenance calories.
Some people like to eat breakfast because it gives them energy and makes them less hungry later (I'm one of these). Some people can go all day with hardly anything and then have a huge dinner (my Hubs). Do what works best for you.0 -

I totally agree with all of this!0 -
I workout in the early (4:30) morning first and then have a 900 calorie bowl of oatmeal, chia seeds, milk, walnuts, fresh strawberries, blueberries and a banana. By 9:15 I am ready for a shake and at 10:15 I eat an apple. It just seems to keep my metabolism on high all day when I keep eating.0

This 100%. I find that if I get less sleep, I wake up ravenous. If I get more sleep, a cup of coffee will keep me full for 2-3 hours until lunch time.0 -

You wake up 2-3 hours before lunchtime? Wish I could do that...0 -
I'm not a morning eater personally never have been with that knowledge in mind I decide what the heck and am giving intermittent fasting a shot I kinda like it and oddly enough I'm nicer when I don't eat in the morning. My window is 2 pm-10pm though I often stop eating around 9. I like it works and I'm not having to struggle to fit snacks in around my classes when it seems more like my body is just saying "I'm thirsty drink something."0

I'm a college student who lives on campus. I have classes at 11 or 12:30 typically. So I get up at 8 or 9, have coffee, and eat before class starts.0 -
I pretty much never eat in the morning, I have no appetite when I first get up; I know everyone says that it's the most important meal of the day and all that, but honestly, I don't notice any negative effect. If I try to force down food when I really don't want it, I feel nauseous, so I just skip brekkie and have lunch when I start to feel hungry. Suits me fine.0

I'm glad I'm not the only one, I don't eat breakfast most days. I have something small like a single brioche swirl on some of the week days I'm at home for the day (about once a week, but it varies) but otherwise don't eat until lunch time.
I've done the same for getting on 20 years now and never found it a problem. They tell you for weight loss you should eat more in the morning and less at night, but when I've tried I've just eaten in the morning, then as hungry as usual the rest of the day so just end up eating more if I eat breakfast.
I think if your body is comfortable with skipping it and you don't get faint mid morning or anything then don't worry about it.0 -
Thanks for all of your responses! I will continue to skip it I just didn't want to hinder my weight loss! Thanks guys0

I eat breakfast every morning because well, I am hungry when I wake up. But NO it won't stall weight loss if you do. As other's have stated just stay at your required calorie allotment and you will lose weight regardless of what time of day you eat!0
